"Can you get out of your own head for a moment and just listen to me!" Sebastian was losing his patience. He had never been this patient with anyone the way he found himself being with her, had never felt the need to explain himself the way he constantly felt he needed to with her.
Patience was not a virtue he had ever claimed or practiced, but with her he had been willing to learn it. Only right now, that patience was wearing dangerously thin, because she didn't hold even a single ounce of trust for him, not enough to stop and listen.
Did she have any idea that he could have walked away and shut her out entirely if she had been anyone else? He was trying, genuinely trying, and yet her trust felt like something he would never be able to earn no matter what he did.
Viola stepped back from him and gave a sharp, derisive sniff. "How dare you speak to me like I was the one caught doing something wrong? I saw it with my own eyes!"
