Synopsis
A mountain lion attack, a dead body, or at least half of one, found in the woods, and the sudden appearance of werewolves. Jean Grey has officially seen it all. And she is the vessel for an omnipotent God-like entity called the Phoenix Force. Yeah. Over the years, Jean and the Phoenix have come to an understanding, without a certain bald, wheelchair-bound psychic; they don't have such a hostile relationship, after all. If Jean is the Phoenix's 'perfect' vessel, why would she try to make her miserable? Obviously, the Phoenix doesn't say much of anything; she mostly speaks through Jean or when talking to Jean, she speaks through emotion. Jean's appearance in town catches the eye of a certain brooding, sourwolf. A hyperactive spaz thinks Jean is related to a certain strawberry blonde, said Strawberry blonde adores Jean's hair, a brunette argent loves her eyes, and the lovesick puppy with the slightly misaligned jaw finds her suspicious. So all in all. Jean thinks this town's pretty weird

Chapter 1 - BESTIARY ENTRY #1

— BEASTIARY ENTRY —

Name: Jean Grey

Alias: The Phoenix Host

Species: Human — Living Vessel of the Phoenix Force

Threat Classification: Omega-Level | Global Extinction Potential

Overview

Jean Grey is a human woman bound to the Phoenix Force, an ancient cosmic entity representing creation, destruction, and rebirth. Though the Phoenix is restrained—either by Jean herself or by forces not yet understood—its presence alone makes her the single most powerful being currently walking the world.

Even weakened, even unwilling, Jean Grey surpasses alphas, emissaries, ancient spirits, and mythic creatures alike. The power does not need her permission to exist. It only waits.

Physical Description

Jean Grey is striking in a way that feels unsettlingly natural. Pale skin, sharp green eyes, and deep red hair frame a face that is both gentle and intimidating. Her beauty is effortless, almost timeless—mirroring the kind of elegance that makes people look twice without knowing why.

When she draws too deeply on the Phoenix, her body betrays the truth she tries to hide. Faint orange-gold cracks spread across her skin, glowing like embers beneath porcelain flesh, as if something vast and burning is pressing outward, threatening to tear free. The cracks fade once the power recedes, leaving her shaken and exhausted.

Abilities (Restricted / Incomplete Control)

Jean actively suppresses the Phoenix Force. Despite this, her baseline power remains catastrophically high.

Telepathy: Constant, passive awareness of nearby minds. Active intrusion is limited but still overwhelming in effect. Emotional overload can trigger involuntary psychic backlash.

Telekinesis: Effortless manipulation of matter on a large scale, even while restrained. Full-force use risks Phoenix emergence.

Empathic Amplification: Emotions act as catalysts. Fear, grief, rage, and desperation amplify her power exponentially.

Phoenix Manifestation (Partial): Heat waves, golden light, reality distortion, and destructive energy bursts during moments of extreme stress. Each use leaves visible cracks along her skin.

Regeneration: Rapid healing bordering on resurrection; the Phoenix refuses to let its host die easily. (I understand she doesn't have a passive healing factor; in this, she does. If she didn't, it wouldn't make sense).

Important Note: These abilities represent Jean holding back. If she ever stops… There will be nothing in Beacon Hills—or the world—capable of stopping her. (I will not nerf her for the sake of the plot. She is Jean Grey; she can wipe the floor with pretty much anyone. It will come down to whether Jean will be offensive or defensive).

Behavioral Profile

Jean Grey is cautious, soft-spoken, and deeply afraid of herself. She avoids conflict and actively downplays her abilities, believing control comes from restraint. She fears the Phoenix not as a curse, but as a truth she may not survive becoming.

Despite her fear, Jean is compassionate to a fault. She will endure pain, exposure, and loss rather than allow others to suffer—often at great personal cost.

Threat Assessment

Jean Grey is not hostile. She does not seek domination or destruction. However, her emotional state directly influences the Phoenix Force. Prolonged stress, betrayal, or grief could result in an uncontrollable emergence event.

Containment: Impossible

Negotiation: Conditional

Survival Probability if Phoenix Fully Awakens: Negligible, aka You Better Run
