Chapter 57 - The Wall of God

[Neo-Atlantis - The Coastline]

The shadow of the wave covered the entire island. It was 300 feet of churning, black ocean. It carried the force of a nuclear bomb. The citizens of Neo-Atlantis fell to their knees. They didn't run anymore. There was no point. They simply hugged their loved ones and waited for the end.

"I'm sorry," a father whispered to his daughter, shielding her eyes. "Close your eyes."

On the balcony of the Palace, Alex stood alone. The wind from the approaching wave whipped his hair. The roar was deafening.

"System," Alex whispered. "Activate."

[System Alert] [Item: 'The Moses Field' Activated.] [Energy Consumption: 100% of Fusion Core Output.] [Mode: Absolute Repulsion.]

HUMMMMM.

A sound, deeper than the ocean, resonated through the earth. From the coastline, a series of golden pylons rose from the sand. They fired beams of pure gravitational energy into the sky.

[The Impact]

The wave crashed down. But it didn't hit the city.

It hit an invisible wall 500 meters offshore.

BOOM.

The sound of the impact shattered windows in the nearest skyscrapers. The water didn't splash; it was rejected. The Moses Field created a zone of "Zero Kinetic Energy." As soon as the water touched the barrier, its momentum was instantly canceled.

The 300-foot wall of water smashed against the golden energy field and climbed up. It rose into the sky, creating a towering vertical ocean that hung over the city like a curtain of death.

But not a single drop touched the streets.

[The Miracle]

The citizens opened their eyes. They looked up. They saw millions of tons of water suspended in the air, held back by a shimmering golden light. Sunlight refracted through the water, creating a massive rainbow over the city.

"He... he stopped the ocean," the father whispered, staring at the sky.

Alex walked to the edge of the balcony. He raised his hand. "Push," Alex commanded.

The golden pylons pulsed. The Moses Field expanded. With a roar, the invisible wall pushed outward. It shoved the millions of tons of water back into the sea.

The Tsunami was reversed. The wave collapsed harmlessly back into the deep ocean.

The sun shone down on Neo-Atlantis. The streets were dry. For a moment, there was silence. Then, a cheer erupted. It wasn't just a cheer; it was a roar of religious ecstasy. Two million people screamed Alex's name.

[The Council of Five - The Bunker]

The screen went black. The satellite feed cut out. The General (Seat 2) sat in his chair, frozen.

"Target status?" The Elder asked.

"Intact," The General whispered. "Zero casualties. Zero damage. He... he repelled the ocean."

"How?" The Bishop slammed his fist on the table. "That is impossible! The energy required to stop that mass... it would require the output of a small sun!"

"He has a sun," Isabella V poured herself a drink, her hand trembling. "He has a Fusion Core. And he has technology that defies physics."

The Elder looked at the map. The red dot of Neo-Atlantis was still there, mocking them.

"We cannot kill him with force," The Elder said, his voice sounding very old. "We threw the earth at him, and he batted it away."

"Then what?" The Banker asked. "Do we surrender?"

"No," The Elder's eyes narrowed. "If we cannot destroy his body... we must destroy his Soul."

The Elder pressed a button on his console. A file appeared on the screen. [Project: Pandora.]

"He has a weakness," The Elder hissed. "Every man has a weakness. We just need to find the one thing he cannot buy."
