Time seemed to stop as a chilling coldness swept over the world. At their elevation, a platform of solid ice slowly protruded from the rocky surface, growing out just like the colorful crystals that sealed their flying ability.
They had found out that while the crystals sealed their flight, using their abilities in other ways was possible.
Once a small platform had formed, enough to accommodate all fifteen of them, they all collapsed, Esther's chains clinking against the ice as they laid down on the cool ice. Only Julian remained standing, his arms spread to maintain the cold barrier that drove away the flames.
Alex sat up from the icy ground, snapping his fingers several times in quick succession.
