Chapter 26 - Labyrinth of Ashura [1]

They resumed their journey into the abyss of the unexplored region, with Lenny acting as the surveillance officer.

He summoned his shadow clone, sending it out to observe dangers they could find on the way.

Common rank Apocalypse creatures were easy to find in both explored and unexplored regions of the Fallen Realm.

Level 1 Common rank Apocalypse creatures down to Level 5 are known to move in groups.

Lenny considered himself lucky having encountered lone ones instead of facing an entire pack or herd of Common rank Apocalypse creatures.

Apocalypse creatures from the Wanderer ranks and above were solitary creatures, having the strength to back up.

They dominate the night with their ruthless claws and fangs, although they do not move often but it wasn't too difficult to locate one.

As they move both during the day and night.

Nightwalkers, just as their name entails, walk the night; they do not appear during the day.

And barely even move during the night unless starved and ready to hunt down prey.

But they're mostly found in the depths of both explored regions and unexplored regions.

Meanwhile, Nightmare rank Apocalypse creatures were extremely rare to find, perfectly hidden.

Once eaten till their fill, it takes them more than six months to feed again. Making them rare to find since they don't hunt unless necessary.

And it's not all regions of the Fallen Realm they could be found in. Apocalypse creatures of the Titan ranks were even more impossible to locate.

When a Nightmare rank Apocalypse creature evolves into the Titan rank, the exist outside the laws of the Fallen Realm.

Abominations who rule their own domain were considered walking nukes capable of destroying continents with ease.

A single Level 1 Titan rank Apocalypse creature could destroy a hundred Level 9 Nightmare rank Apocalypse creatures.

This shows how terrifying these monstrosities were. A Fallen Regulator who isn't certified as a General wouldn't dare gaze upon a Titan without risking their sanity.

Meanwhile, Evil Spirits were considered natural disasters, thanks to their terrifying might.

Burning through the world with so much tenacity.

In the five hundred years of history, only a total of a hundred Evil Spirits have been found.

If an Evil Spirit lives in an unexplored region, they're the sole rulers of that region.

A Level 1 Evil Spirit could destroy a thousand Level 9 Titan rank Apocalypse creatures.

A General could not risk gazing at one without losing their sanity, and Fallen Regulators who haven't conquered their Second Apocalypse.

Just the presence of an Evil Spirit is terrifying enough to melt their very souls.

Erasing them from existence.

Demon ranks were even more horrifying, known for their unholy strength, creatures capable of challenging even the gods.

Demon rank Apocalypse creatures were known for having two forms, a humanoid form and their monster form.

Even a Level 1 Demon rank Apocalypse creature is more intelligent than a Level 9 Evil Spirit.

Demon ranks Apocalypse creatures are the only known Fallen creatures who could speak the language of humans.

Their Intellect and overwhelming strength make even the invincible Rank 9 Fallen Regulators fearful of them.

Only a total of five Demon rank Apocalypse creatures have been recorded in the five hundred years of the Regulator's society.

With the Great House Night defeating one of them.

The expedition team considered themselves lucky as they reached their destination without much difficulty.

Jay had mapped out the location of the Dungeon, while Lenny's shadow clone helped them notice unseen dangers.

They were in a hurry, not having the time to battle against the Apocalypse creatures.

A battle against Apocalypse creatures will surely be noisy, attracting unwanted attention from the depths.

Dungeons were a term created by humanity, but they were known as Labyrinths by the Fallen Realm.

Dungeons were treasure chests, a pocket world that acts as a gateway into forgotten planets or realms absorbed by the Fallen Realm.

There were thousands of planets scattered across the universe, so they had no idea where they would be thrown.

That's if they weren't with Jay.

They stood before the narrow entrance of a cave. Crystal stepped forward; she sensed mana fluctuations from where she stood.

She glanced at Jay for a second, "This is the Dungeon's gate isn't it?" She asked.

Jay nodded with a subtle smile, "Yeah, it's indeed in the Dungeon gate, and once we step inside, we'll be led into the Labyrinth of Ashura," He explained.

Crystal's eyebrows furrowed, "Ashura?" She asked.

Jay nodded, taking a deep breath, "Ashura was once the god of war and where we will be sent is a forgotten realm created by the dead god long ago"

"The Labyrinth of Ashura, and this forgotten labyrinth takes the form of a maze one" Jay explained.

Lenny raised an eyebrow, "A maze?" He asked.

Jay smiled, "Yeah, I'm sure you know what mazes are, right? This Labyrinth is a maze with infinite numbers of corridors but only has two destinations"

"The first destination is where the boss monster, the Level 8 Wanderer rank Apocalypse creature dwells and the other is where her twin Level 7 Wanderer rank Apocalypse creature resides"

"This Labyrinth is governed by a single type species of Apolcalypse creatures, the High Orcs" Jay explained.

Lenny raised his hand, Jay glanced at him for a moment "What is it? Lenny" Jay asked.

Lenny cleared his throat "Sorry for interuppting but you mentioned we will be fighting against High Orcs right? What tribe we will be dealing with?" He asked.

Jay breathed in deeply, "They're the Red Hair Tribe, known for their dark crimson hair, once a Common rank High Orc evolves to the Wanderer rank, they grow a single spike on their back"

"This meant we'll be hunting down a seven spike High Orc and an eight spike High Orc, the boss monster"

"Following the rules of Dungeons, if we must stick together, we'll need to hold eachother's hands while walking through the gate or else we'll be thrown in randomly"

Jay paused for a second, "I'll go with the K&B party, while Crystal, you, and Lenny will form a group and take down the Level 7 Wanderer rank Apocalypse creature," Jay stated.

Both Lenny and Crystal stared at eachother for a moment, not uttering a word.

Jay continued, "I should remind you that an attack on one of these twins will alert the other immediately''

"So they must be distracted at the same time if we must clear this Dungeon" Jay sighed.

Crystal giggled, "I'm still curious about how you knew all these things, have you entered this Dungeon before?" She asked.

Jay shook his head, "If I had, we wouldn't be here in the first place, have you forgotten what we Sorcerers are?" He asked.

Crystal chuckled, "Ah, I see….you must have cast a spell using the Divination Path, right?" She asked, Jay nodded calmly.

"That's correct, Lady Crystal, that's how I was able to map out this Dungeon in the first place," he sighed.

"Now let's begin, " Jay said, he took a step forward. His party members followed up. They held each other.

Walking through the narrow entrance of the cave, their presence was completely erased.

Lenny softly exhaled, "It has finally begun huh?" He stole a glance at Crystal who was quick to notice.

Crystal smiled, "Are you ready Mr. Night?" She asked.

Lenny approached her, and she stretched her hand for a shake, but Lenny ignored it, stepping into the cave.

He answered, "I'm fine on my own." With that, his presence was also erased; he was absorbed by the Dungeon.

Crystal chuckled softly, her lips curled into a dark grin, "You can come out" She whispered.

Three men emerged from the darkness, all geared up in their battle suits, their faces hidden under a demonic goat-headed mask.

"Princess, we're ready" Their unified voices resonated through the air.

Crystal nodded, she glanced at the men, her grey wand transformed into a sheathed katana.

"All preparations are complete, it's time for us to erase the name of the Nights from this world"

"We'll be doing the Great Houses a favor by assassinating Lenny Night tonight" She grinned.

"We must be quick"
