Josh sat at his desk, staring at reports from the siege. He shook his head as he thought of the men lost, and the equipment that was destroyed. In the week since the siege, the empire had easily replaced the equipment lost, but lives could never be replaced. He sat with his head in his hands, unable to look at the names anymore.
"Are we doing what is right?" He whispered. He remembered when him and Justin had asked that very same question near the beginning of their tour in Iraq. It had been a full year since the start of the war, and Iraq's army was essentially non existent. Josh shared the same opinion as Justin:
There was no need for more war.
Josh walked up to Captain Muir. The captain was filing away equipment reports ad Josh walked up. The older officer could tell something was on the mind of his young LT, so he put the papers away and looked up at Josh. "What's going on Josh? You don't seem to be handling things well."
