Chapter 106 - Chapter 106: The Deepest Bond Between a Trainer and a Pokémon

Lucas returned to the resting area, sat on a chair, his mind filled with thoughts.

Vulpix and Mime Jr. were a little sad about Baby Kangaskhan's departure.

Lucas glanced at them.

Just as he was about to speak,

Misdreavus appeared.

Then it pulled them towards the backyard.

Listening to the laughter that quickly echoed back,

Lucas smiled.

Young age, small worries.

A gust of wind, and they dispersed.

Regarding the departed Kangaskhan, and the Ninetales that had left long ago,

Lucas knew that this Breeding House was his and Gengar's Breeding House, no longer theirs.

So they would come back to visit, but would not choose to stay.

Just like Gengar and the others.

Wherever he was, they would be.

Perhaps for some Pokémon, a human's life is extremely short.

But Lucas felt it was already enough.

Meeting Pokémon, and then forging bonds.

Within this short time, different but brilliant fireworks would bloom.

It was already beautiful.

Thinking of this, the old armchair beneath him gently swayed.

Rocking back and forth.

Lucas gradually closed his eyes.

In his dream, Lucas seemed to see a young girl.

Watching Ninetales emerge from the forest.

Looking at the cold gaze in Ninetales's eyes.

The girl slowly extended her hand.

Then there was a lost Baby Kangaskhan.

And a lost Ralts.

And, "Is the boss sleeping?"

"Lajee~"

"Oh, then I'll be quieter. Can I wait here for the boss to wake up?"

The dream suddenly dissipated, and Lucas opened his eyes.

Lilligant was talking to a Trainer.

Hearing the hushed voices, Lucas stood up.

"Hello, welcome to Gengar's Paradise, which is this Breeding House. How may I help you?"

The Trainer was startled by Lucas's sudden voice.

He patted his chest.

"You scared me, manager! Did I wake you up?"

Lucas shook his head.

Then he looked at the Lilligant in front of the Trainer, smiling and nodding.

Praising her for doing a good job.

At this moment, Gengar floated over and handed a list to the Trainer.

"Kojie?"

Lucas, you're awake?

Lucas tugged at Gengar's mouth.

The Trainer took the list and glanced at it.

Lucas stood by, explaining whenever the Trainer didn't understand.

Finally, the Trainer made a decision and looked up.

"Manager, I'd like to board my Pokémon."

"Of course."

Lucas nodded and said.

"But I have a request."

"Please speak."

"I'd like you to help me train my Pokémon."

?

Lucas, with a head full of question marks, said:

"I'm not a Trainer, and I'm not good at training Pokémon. Moreover, this is not within the scope of the Breeding House's services."

"No, what I mean is, could your Pokémon help me train them?

"I'm sick, and I'm going to have surgery soon."

The Trainer showed a brilliant smile.

Then he continued:

"They say the success rate is very low, but when I caught them, I told them that I would train them well, make them stronger, and then take them to the League Conference. But in the time to come, I won't be able to accompany them, and I don't want to disappoint them. So I'd like to ask you to let the Breeding House's Pokémon train them on my behalf."

"They don't need to improve; I just want them to know that they need to work hard to become strong, and then we will go to the League Conference together."

After speaking, the Trainer bowed.

Lucas listened, but said nothing.

"If—I mean if—"

The Trainer's voice began to choke.

"Please, manager, tell them that they were too weak, and I abandoned them."

Lilligant frowned at the side.

Looking at Lucas.

Lucas looked at the Trainer who was still bowing in front of him.

"I promise you."

The Trainer straightened up, wiped his tears, and said with a smile:

"Thank you, manager."

Lucas waved his hand.

"I mean, I will let Gengar and the others train your Pokémon, but I won't say the latter part for you."

"If you want to say it, you come back and say it yourself."

"When is the surgery?"

The Trainer was a bit slow to react, but still answered truthfully.

"In seven days."

"One month. If you don't come back to pick them up in one month, I'll sell them to other Trainers."

Hearing Lucas's cold words, the Trainer laughed.

Wiping the tears from his eyes.

He took a deep breath.

Then he released his Pokémon.

Infernape, Quagsire, Beautifly, Hippowdon, Honchkrow, and Golem.

"Everyone, I'm entrusting you to the manager now. You must train well with the manager's Pokémon. After I finish my Trainer's course, I'll come back and take you all to the League Conference!"

"Don't disappoint me!"

The Trainer raised his voice.

Infernape and the others also responded loudly.

The Trainer's eyes showed reluctance.

Lucas saw sadness in the eyes of Infernape and the others.

He sighed inwardly.

Foolish children.

Pokémon can see the outside world through their Poké Balls.

But Lucas did not speak to break the unspoken understanding between the two parties.

The Trainer didn't want the Pokémon to be sad, and the Pokémon wanted the Trainer to get well.

He shook his head.

Lucas refused the Trainer's request for payment.

"When you come back to pick them up, then settle the bill."

After speaking, Lucas led Infernape and the others to the backyard.

And the Trainer looked at their retreating figures.

He opened his mouth, wanting to call out to them.

But in the end, he held back.

As he turned, Infernape and the others stopped.

They turned to look at the Trainer walking out the door.

They opened their mouths, but no sound came out.

Lucas stopped, waiting for them to catch up.

"Aren't you going to say something?"

Lucas spoke softly.

Infernape finally couldn't hold back.

It let out a cry.

We will work hard to become stronger! You must come back and take us to challenge the League Conference!

Hearing Infernape's Growl, the Trainer turned around.

His face was covered in tears.

He understood what Infernape and the others meant.

Their hearts were connected.

"Yes, I'll be back, and then we'll challenge the League Conference together, and challenge Champion Cynthia."

Hearing this, Lucas smiled.

Then he led them to the backyard.

The Trainer wiped away his tears and turned to leave.

"Lajee~"

For you.

The Trainer looked at the Lilligant in front of him, holding flowers and offering them to him.

He was a little surprised.

He looked up at Gengar and the others.

Gengar was grinning, showing a mouthful of white teeth.

It gave a vigorous thumbs-up, showing a healthy smile.

Vulpix sat on the ground, smiling cutely.

Mime Jr. ran up and took his hand, encouraging him.

And Gothorita, its eyes full of encouragement.

Vespiquen gave him a small jar of sweet honey.

He took the sweet honey and smiled happily.

"I'll be back. I'll come back to pick them up, and then we'll move towards our dreams."

A gust of wind carried this sound into Lucas's ears.

Lucas was in a pleasant mood.

You won't be able to bear to leave them. You will create a miracle.

As long as you are connected with your Pokémon, nothing is impossible.

"Thank you all."

The Trainer took the flowers and turned to leave.

His back was resolute and confident.
