Chapter 6 - chapter 6 : Haunted

When I woke up today, I felt something was wrong. Something was missing. I didn't even have the mood to get up from bed and go to school. It's a feeling that I can't describe.

A feeling that I'm forgetting something important. I dumped that thought from my mind and got up to get fresh. I'm still feeling the haziness I felt last night.

I heard Mom calling mine and Caroline's names from downstairs, telling us to come down and eat breakfast. Honestly, I'm thinking about telling Mom that I won't go to school today.

I slowly went downstairs. I was still in my pajamas and hadn't even freshened up.

Aaron: "Mom?"

Mom then looked at me, "Honey, why are you still in your pajamas?"

Aaron: "Mom, can I skip school today? I have a little headache."

Mom: "Are you alright? OK, you can skip. But do you need to go to the hospital?"

Aaron: "No. I think I'll be fine after taking a rest."

Mom: "OK. And I have to go right now to work. But if you suddenly start to feel bad, make sure to call me."

Aaron: "OK, Mom."

I then went upstairs to my room again. I was trying to remember what happened last night, but my headache only got worse the harder I tried. "I give up." I gave up trying to remember what happened last night and took my phone out. I was scrolling through my phone lazily.

Suddenly, I saw Caroline's text pop up.

[Caroline: Heard from Mom you are not coming to school. Are you still coming to the sexy suds?

Aaron: I think today I'll skip. I have bad headache.

Caroline: Oh my, did you take meds?

Aaron: Not yet. Hey Caroline... um... never mind. Have fun in sexy suds car wash.

Caroline: Haha. Okay, bye.]

I put my phone down. I should go and eat something. Maybe ice cream can help me fill the void.

Days went by and Halloween came.

Caroline handed Bonnie a bag, "I have got your costumes. It's all here."

Aaron: "Wow. What dress did you get?"

Bonnie took the clothes out of the bag and saw it was a witch costume.

Bonnie: "Seriously?"

I couldn't help but laugh, "It suits you, Bonnie."

Caroline: "Ah, come on. Can someone please be excited that it's Halloween? I just wanna have fun. You know, just some silly, fluffy, Damon-free fun."

My smile dropped when I heard Damon's name. My mind was continuously hurting and feeling uneasy that I'm forgetting something important. My headache suddenly started to begin.

Bonnie pointed at the necklace, "Isn't this the one you got from Damon?"

Caroline: "Yep. Wear it, toss it. I don't care. I just want it gone. Have you seen Elena? Do we know what she's wearing?"

Bonnie: "I was with Grams all weekend. I haven't talked to her. Maybe she's with Stefan."

Caroline looked at me.

Aaron: "Don't look at me. I was at home due to intense headache. She must be with Stefan."

Caroline: "Riding to his castle on his white horse?"

Bonnie: "Oh, don't be bitter. It provokes wrinkles."

I let out a chuckle.

Aaron: "Wait, what dress did I get then?"

Caroline: "Your dress is at home. And you got the Harry Potter look."

Aaron: "Childish."

Caroline: "Oh. Don't pout. You will look cute in it."

.

.

I, Bonnie, and Caroline walked in together.

Tyler came to us and offered Caroline and Bonnie a drink.

Tyler: "Cider for the ladies? It's a Lockwood special."

I rolled my eyes. "Hey, Care and Bonnie, I'll be around." I waved them bye and left. Wasn't Tyler all about Vicky a few days ago? Right now, Vicky is missing, and he is flirting with everyone else.

Elena and Matt saw each other at the party. Matt: "You wore the same dress as last year." Elena: "And you too."

Matt then looked at Jeremy, who was wearing a normal black hoodie.

Matt: "And you are going as... you?"

Jeremy scoffed and left them.

As Jeremy was walking by, I saw him. I called his name loudly, "Jeremy?"

Jeremy looked back, "Aaron?"

Aaron: "Yeah, that's me. I look childish, right? In Harry Potter's outfit."

Jeremy: "No. You look good."

Aaron: "So. What did you dress up as?"

Jeremy rolled his eyes, "Don't ask."

Aaron: "Who cares. You look better than most of the people here."

Jeremy smiled, "Really?"

Aaron: "Yeah."

Then I started coughing a little bit. Damn, eating ice cream to fill the void I was feeling the past few days was a bad idea.

Jeremy looked at me with worry, "Are you cold?" He then took off his hoodie and covered me with it.

"Wear it. You will feel less cold."

Aaron: "No. I'm fin—" I couldn't finish my sentence due to coughing.

Jeremy: "Wait here. I'll get you water."

Then Jeremy left.

.

Ten minutes passed, but Jeremy never came. I then started to walk out of that place. I don't think Jeremy will come now. I looked at myself in the mirror that was used for decoration. Jeremy's hoodie was a little big for me.

I suddenly started to feel a little bit angry—who says, "Wait for me, I'll get you water," then vanishes and never comes? I then took out my phone and texted Caroline that I'm going home because I'm having a headache. I actually didn't want to be at that party anymore.

Vicky took jeremy outside of the school grounds.
