Inside the Tower — After the Blast
Smoke fills the air.
The reactor is silent.
Dead.
Saved.
But nobody cares.
Christina crawls across the floor.
"…No."
Her voice is shaking.
Small.
"…No, no, no—"
Henry is already there.
Kneeling beside Ray.
"…Ray?"
Nothing.
No movement.
No sarcastic comment.
No instant recovery.
Christina's chest tightens.
"…He always gets up."
Henry swallows hard.
"…Yeah."
But his voice doesn't believe it.
Christina grabs Ray's jacket.
Shakes him.
"Get up."
Nothing.
Her voice cracks—
"GET UP!"
Still nothing.
For the First Time… Silence Wins
Schwoz's voice trembles through the comm—
"…Why isn't he moving?"
Charlotte doesn't answer.
Because she already knows.
Christina Breaks
Her hands tremble.
"…This is my fault."
Henry shakes his head immediately.
"No."
She pushes him.
"YES!"
Her voice cracks.
"I was supposed to take it—"
Henry grabs her shoulders.
"Stop."
She's shaking now.
"He did it because of me—"
Henry's voice is firm.
"He did it because he loves you."
That lands.
Hard.
Christina's breathing stutters.
"…He wasn't supposed to."
Henry softens.
"…Yeah."
A beat.
"…But he did anyway."
Then—
Ray coughs.
Weak.
Barely.
Both of them freeze.
"…Ray?"
His eyes open slightly.
Unfocused.
"…Ow."
Henry lets out a breath.
"…Oh thank god."
Christina leans closer.
"…You're okay."
Ray tries to sit up.
Fails.
"…No."
That's new.
Henry frowns.
"…What do you mean no."
Ray looks at his hands.
Something's wrong.
"…I can feel that."
Christina blinks.
"…What?"
Ray slowly touches his arm.
Winces.
Actually winces.
"…That's not supposed to hurt."
The realization hits all of them at once.
Henry whispers—
"…No way."
Christina's voice is barely there—
"…Your powers."
Ray exhales shakily.
"…Gone."
Silence
Heavy.
Unbelievable.
Christina stares at him.
"…You're not—"
Ray shakes his head slowly.
"…Not anymore."
For the first time in years—
Captain Man is just Ray.
Human.
Breakable.
Her eyes fill.
"…You did that."
Ray looks at her.
"…Yeah."
She shakes her head.
"…Why would you—"
Ray interrupts softly.
"…Because you're my daughter."
Silence.
She stares at him.
Breathing uneven.
"…You chose me."
Ray nods.
"…Every time."
That breaks her.
She pulls him into a hug.
Tight.
Desperate.
"…You're so stupid."
Ray lets out a weak laugh.
"…Yeah."
His arms wrap around her.
Carefully.
Because now—
He has to be careful.
Henry Watches
Something shifts in him.
Deep.
Real.
He just saw:
A hero give up everything For the same girl he loves
Henry exhales slowly.
"…You're insane."
Ray glances at him.
"…Runs in the family."
Christina doesn't let go.
Then—
Charlotte's voice bursts through comms—
"GUYS—THEY'RE NOT DONE."
The lights flicker.
The mastermind's voice echoes again.
"…Touching."
Christina's eyes darken.
"…You."
The mastermind steps out.
Bianca and Hunter beside them.
Unharmed.
Waiting.
"…You really thought it would end there?"
Henry stands.
"…You're dead."
The mastermind smiles.
"Am I?"
They look at Ray.
Then laugh softly.
"…You're not indestructible anymore."
Ray slowly stands.
Still shaky.
Still human.
"…Don't need to be."
Christina steps in front of him instantly.
Protective.
"…You're not touching him."
Henry joins her.
"…Yeah."
The mastermind tilts their head.
"…How sweet."
Then—
They gesture.
Hunter and Bianca step forward.
Final fight incoming.
Christina stands in front.
Henry beside her.
Ray behind them.
Not the strongest anymore.
But still standing.
Still fighting.
Christina whispers—
"…We finish this."
Henry nods.
"…Together."
Ray looks at both of them.
Proud.
"…Together."
