In a small café in New York City, there sat one man drinking coffee; that man was named Theo.
You see, Theo was an average guy just trying to live a comfortable, peaceful life,
Or so he thought as the sound of gunshots rang outside the cafe.
"Shit," he said, as a group of masked men burst through the door of the cafe, breaking it off its hinges.
"Why the hell did I come to this cafe? I knew I should have gone to Starbucks instead!" he thought as one of the masked men pulled out a grenade.
With no time to think, Theo rushed towards the man only to get shot in the leg.
Falling to his knees, Theo's thoughts surged forward, "Did I leave the stove on?... Will my family be proud of my recklessness?... Why did I have to try and act like a hero?... I don't want to die...I never finished watching The Vampire Diaries yet..."
His memories replayed themselves from the start of his life, slowing down to highlight the happy moments he wished he could revisit.
"Mom..Dad..I'm sorry I couldn't retire you both early," he thought as a tear ran down his face.
And then there was a sudden ring of a gunshot followed by a surge of pain, only for it to vanish for a millisecond as his body collapsed onto the floor....
"I wish I had another chance..." he said as his heart stopped beating.
Falling into the black abyss, Theo panicked. He never expected to die so young, especially right after high school. But his thoughts slowed as he stared at a floating screen he never hoped to see.
"A system...? Will I get reincarnated?" he wondered. Besides family, anime, books, series, and movies were Theo's happiness.
Suddenly, his thoughts were cut off by a cold and empty voice echoing into his mind.
[REINCARNATION IN PROGRESS...ERASING MEMORIES...]
Theo was extremely frightened by the fact that it was going to erase his memories.
Panicking, Theo pleaded and begged at the mysterious system as it was the only thing he could do, as he was continuously falling into the black abyss without any sign of the end.
Then suddenly, as if he had heard...

Suddenly, he was sucked into a portal that was behind him, which he was unaware of. He could hope that the UNKNOWN BEING wasn't a deity that would use him for entertainment and that the world he is sent to is safe...
Few short moments later he found himself in a hospital although he wasn't alone.
A older woman in her 30s was holding his hand. She had short blonde hair and hazel eyes.
When she noticed he was awake she immediately hugged him so tight that his bones might break.
Only after a couple of minutes she pulled away and said "Theo why did you have to be so reckless you almost got yourself killed stop taking drugs and listen to me and Elena's advice."
Theo's thoughts were in a disarray he didn't know this woman and he never took drugs before in his whole life and when she mentioned someone named Elena he immediately knew what world he was in.
Smiling he said "Sorry auntie I'll stop taking drugs I promise."
Jenna frowned and said "Don't make promises you can't keep Theo you already have broken a lot of them between me and Elena saying you won't take any more drugs but you keep doing it."
"But this time I swear I won't do it again you can watch me dispose of the drugs when we get back home if you want to auntie." he said
A couple minutes later the two of them are walking to the parking lot but Theo is lagging behind a bit since he was in an accident.
Getting into the car with Jenna he said "What's the date and why are you so worried about me?"
Jenna said ignoring his last question "I guess the drugs really messed up your mind, It's September 6, 2009 why?"
Looking out of the window to view the scenery he said "No reason other than the fact I feel like I've been sleeping for a year"
The car drives out of the parking lot passing multiple buildings in the process and fades into the distance.
