Chapter 2 - Chapter 2

Yami, six years old. A transmigrator.

A sudden death had turned him from a twenty-five-year-old adult into a newborn baby.

Thanks to the Japanese classes he took as an elective in high school, as well as part-time work with a translation group during college, Yami understood the nature of the world he had arrived in the moment he was born.

It was not some unfamiliar otherworld.

It was a universe where everyone spoke Japanese. A two-dimensional world. And worse still, it was one of the Big Three shōnen series: Naruto.

When he learned that he had transmigrated into the Naruto world, and into a family without any bloodline limit at that, Yami felt as if the sky had collapsed.

The so-called Big Three shōnen were also known as the Big Three bloodline series. Every protagonist started out ordinary, only to end up as the world's favored child.

A thousand chapters of a Rubber Fruit suddenly becoming a Mythical Zoan Human Fruit, Model Nika. Who would believe that?

Before the Rubber Fruit turned into the Nika Fruit, Naruto was the most heavily criticized of the bloodline series.

This world was one where lineage reigned supreme. From start to finish, it told the brutal story of conflicts revolving around the Otsutsuki clan.

No matter how talented a ninja was, figures like the Second Tsuchikage Mu or the Third Raikage A represented the absolute peak they could reach.

Only those connected to the Otsutsuki clan, or those who became the Nine-Tails jinchuriki and gained its complete acknowledgment, had any hope of stepping into the realm beyond Kage level.

Being born a civilian without a bloodline limit was already a disastrous start. Then, at the age of three, his father, a versatile jōnin, his mother, a special jōnin, and their comrades all died together during a large-scale mission.

In that instant, Yami's vision went black.

All support. All connections. Gone.

By all logic, such a cursed fate should have been reserved for a protagonist.

Yet even now, long after his parents' deaths, Yami had discovered no cheat, no golden finger of any kind.

If there were not even the slightest chance to turn things around, Yami would have already considered ending himself just to see if he could transmigrate again.

Opening a locked chest, Yami pulled out a palm-sized red scroll from beneath a pile of scrolls.

He infused chakra into the seal on it. The sealing characters slowly faded away, and when he unrolled it, a blank surface was revealed.

Yami bit his thumb, smeared the blood onto the scroll, formed hand seals, and pressed his palm down as he let out a low shout.

"Release."

With a bang, white smoke filled the dim basement.

When the smoke dispersed, the blood on the scroll had vanished, replaced by several stacked notebooks and a box of pencils.

As usual, Yami sat cross-legged before the scroll, picked up the top notebook, and flipped it open.

The pages were filled with notes written in pinyin and Cantonese. Even in a world where Japanese, English, and Chinese characters existed, no one could decipher them unless they could read the memories inside Yami's brain.

He flipped through the notebooks quickly, reinforcing his memory so as not to lose the greatest advantage of being a transmigrator.

Main Plot Outline.

Key Characters: Personalities and Experiences.

Complete List of Akatsuki Members.

Unclear Chronology.

Estimations of Timeline Based on Recalled Events.

After finishing one notebook after another, Yami picked up the final one, taking a pencil from the box with his other hand.

He read more slowly this time, his gaze deep, as if thinking or organizing his thoughts.

On the very first page, the title stood out clearly.

On the Possibility of Defying Fate.

The contents that followed were a strategy guide Yami had tailored for himself, based on his knowledge of the plot and understanding of the original characters.

Shortcuts to Acquiring Status and Resources.

Balancing the Sharingan and Hashirama Cells Equals a Guaranteed Surviving Wood Release Test Subject.

Can Becoming a Jinchuriki and Shaping the Identity of the Child of Prophecy Win the Favor of the Nine Tailed Beasts?

The Best Timing to Seize the Rinnegan.

Whenever inspiration struck, Yami refined or revised this guide. This time was no exception.

As he read, he frequently erased lines of pinyin and text, replacing them with new ideas.

On blank pages, he repeatedly wrote and erased fresh strategies.

Only after countless revisions, when he could think of nothing better, did Yami close the notebook, return the pencil to its box, and seal both back into the storage scroll.

When he emerged from the basement, night had already fallen. The clock on the living room wall read 7:52 p.m.

Instead of simply filling his growling stomach, Yami took ingredients from the refrigerator and prepared himself a meal that was not extravagant, but nutritionally complete.

After eating, he went out for a walk to avoid drawing attention from the village due to an overly reclusive lifestyle.

His cold and school tyrant persona at the academy was already isolating enough. Taking it too far could easily backfire.

After returning from the walk, he tidied the house, took a quick shower, and went to bed.

It was close to nine o'clock.

Early to bed, early to rise, regular meals, balanced nutrition.

Having experienced sudden death once before, Yami cherished his body deeply in this life and knew how to maintain it.

This was also the main reason he was taller and had more stamina than Minato.

At six in the morning the next day, the alarm clock pulled Yami from his sleep right on time.

After washing up and changing clothes, he began his first day of holiday with a morning run, only returning home drenched in sweat at eight.

Cooking, showering, reading.

Once the routine was complete, Yami began refining chakra.

Among his peers, Yami's physical condition was top-tier. With both parents having been jōnin, his talent could indeed be called that of a small prodigy, just nowhere near the level of those absurd monsters.

In terms of chakra, he far surpassed ordinary children his age.

Combined with the inheritance left behind by his parents, as long as he did not die prematurely, Yami was guaranteed to become a versatile jōnin in the future.

But that was all.

To become an elite jōnin or reach Kage level, he would need to master at least one S-rank ultimate technique.

Before those who stood beyond Kage level, the Five Kage were nothing more than slightly stronger fodder.

In the eyes of Six Paths level beings, they were lower lifeforms.

Yami would never be satisfied with that.

He wanted to defy fate.

But to defy fate, he first needed the strength to seize and steal those opportunities.

The greater his goal, the greater Yami's current drive.

The first-term holiday lasted over a month.

During the following month, Yami maintained a strict routine. Early to bed and early to rise every day. Mornings were spent training his body, reading, and refining chakra. Afternoons were devoted to mastering the fundamentals of being a ninja. Evenings were spent in the basement organizing his strategy guide. He went to sleep before nine each night, disciplined like a programmed machine.

During that time, Yami also celebrated his own birthday.

In this life, he had been born on August 18, Konoha Year 24.

On that day, Yami turned six years old.

And on that same day, a drastic change occurred in his body.

"What… what is going on?!"

Yami had gone to bed before nine as usual, yet for some reason he could not fall asleep.

With abundant vitality and a body still in a growth phase, he should have drifted off easily.

But tonight, he tossed and turned endlessly, his mind growing more and more active.

After midnight, Yami noticed his body temperature rising, though it was not a fever.

His heart began to race, pounding like a drum.

That unfamiliar yet eerily familiar sensation made Yami's eyes widen as he muttered in disbelief.

"Arrhythmia? How is that possible? I'm this young, I sleep early and wake early every day. How could I be showing signs of sudden death again?!"
