"Where have you been, little sister?" Apple said the moment Berryanna entered the office. He was busy playing with the little kitten, dangling his finger in front of her face as she swatted at it lazily.
"I see you have made friends with the kitten," Berryanna said, going back to her seat. She adjusted the papers in front of her, but her eyes lingered on them for only a second before drifting away.
"Drakitta is a nice creature. I love her."
"Drakitta?" Berryanna's hand paused midair.
"Yes, her name is Drakitta."
"I did not give her to you. Lady Fayrouza has the right to name her."
"Well, I did not name her. She named herself Drakitta." Apple scratched under the kitten's chin. The kitten leaned into his touch, purring softly.
"Whatever. Did you see him in the mansion?" Berryanna said, changing the topic. Her tone shifted, lower now.
