Chapter 2 - Birth of the Protector

The moon shone brightly in the dark sky, yet not a hint of it's glow reflected on the depth of the thick wilderness on the island.

A green haired woman ran in the midst of the woods, loud thuds could be heard as she stumped upon the muddy ground, feet stained, her spear held tightly in her hands.

She swished through the woods frantically like a wave, abruptly stopping at a very tall tree.

It was surrounded by many other trees obstructing the view of the sky.

Her green eyes flickered, glowing, she sensed something dangerous was close by, too close, her grasp on the spear became tighter, almost splitting it, she took a stance, ready for battle, and just as she had expected.

A loud shriek came from the top of the tree, in an instant, the Savage mutant appeared right at her front, growling hardly, showing off its terrifying sharp fangs, it spread it fingers out ready to tear her into bits.

It was a lower class mutated creature, a kharaic beast, it had a snake like tail, long scattered horns, large limbs and a monkey face adorned with razor sharp fangs.

Eight more dropped down from the tree, shrieking loudly as they've finally located a prey, they moved rhythmically surrounding her in an attempt to devour.

The previous kharaic beast lunged in first, its razor sharp fangs about to attack her, her spear fidgeted.

She didn't moved from where she stood, neither did her hand move from its location but the kharaic beast felt a pain in its neck, it's head straying to the ground.

The remnants of the kharaic beasts shrieked hardly, seeing their fellow mutant decapitated, they went in for a strike but it was worthless as she was already lots of meters away, blood dripping from her spear.

It was then the other kharaic beasts realized she had already attacked, their bodies separating, falling apart.

She sprinted faster, her hair dangling behind her, she then ducked, dodging an attack, landing at her front was an eagle bat, the most dangerous airborne mutated species, she twirled her spear, leaping backwards, increasing the gap between her and the eagle bat.

Her eyes glowed brighter as green energy encompassed the spear, the eagle bat shot out a decomposing blast of green liquid from its mouth and in immediate response she fired a huge blast of energy from the spear which clashed with the poisonous liquid.

The eagle bat did not relent, continuously unleashing the barrage of poison towards the blast.

It held for a second, but couldn't last long, she stomped her feet hard on the ground, dust rose, covering the entire area, giving her the opportunity to vanish from the scene.

She resorted to her legs, dispersing quickly, the eagle spotted her immediately, dashing and following her out of the dust.

The pursuit lasted for a while until she was face to face with a tall mountain, she turned back, the eagle bat stopped in it's tracks, it's beak slowly opening.

She gritted her teeth as she held her abdomen trying to fight off the glamorous pain she felt from the baby kicking. She could have killed the eagle bat, but the spear wasn't the right weapon and the eagle bat's body was much harder.

Either way, she had to take the chance she thought to herself, there was a sudden roar from deep in the wilderness, she was fazed.

The eagle bat hearing it, froze as if it's mind was being controlled, she immediately used the opportunity to climb a nearby tree.

"What is it doing here?" She muttered to herself, she could see it far away.

The alpha monster.

It has come for her, she was the last human on the island, she got down from the tree, her eyes darting in all directions, luckily, she spotted it, a cave.

It was the perfect place for her to hide from the alpha.

She labored in the cave, giving birth to a boy, and named him bayu, she wrapped bayu in a bunch of leaves, then laid on the ground to rest.

A while afterwards, her eyes snapped open, she didn't know how long she'd slept, but she could sense danger, she had been pulled by a reptile into the deepest parts of the cave, it must have mistaken her for dead.

She checked for bayu in her hands, heaving a sigh of relief as she discovered he was still there and safe, the reptile then dragged her feet into the stream which flowed in the middle of the cave, she grabbed the spear tucked to her side, plunging it into the head of the reptile, ending its life.

The reptile shrieked, blood gushing from its head, she stroke it more and more until it went silent, keeping bayu close.

There were resounding crackles in the cave, the noise the monster made had alerted them, a grin spread across her face.

From the shadows, ten deadly unlucky creatures launched at her, in an accurate strike they all hit the ground, squirming in pain.

Their numbers increased, enveloping her, the spear gleamed, green energy encompassing it, she raised the spear towards the top of the cave, a powerful blast erupting from it, causing an explosion, which destroyed the interior of the cave along with the monsters that roamed it.

After the explosion she stared towards bayu.

"Here is my wish to you my son.

You're our last hope.

Whenever the universe calls, always answer"

Universal system?

{Yes host?}

The cold voice of the system answered, This is my legacy, when bayu is ready, let him also be chosen.

{Affirmative host}

{Good bye host, legacy transfer in process}

{Initializing}

{Complete}

She kept bayu in a wooden log, on the small stream that was in the cave's interior, she prayed for him to survive, how else could I have hidden him, she thought to herself.

Thunder crackled, drops of water falling from the sky, the trees behind her crashed as the ominous alpha beasts approached, she turned back, also going towards it, her expression cold as she gazed at the alpha monster.

It had a humanoid form, its upper body matched that of a lion, green scales covering its body as skin.

The beast roared hard towards her location, along with the roar came monsters in an instant, rushing in all directions from all parts of the island, surrounding her in thousands, piling on top of themselves, savagely.

She held her sword tightly, gnashing her teeth against each other, her eyes glowing.

"Bring it!"
