Outside a slaughterhouse, twenty people held cards protesting against animal abuse.
Among the protesters was a teenager named Yuta. He wasn't actually a vegetarian, but he was there because he'd been promised payment at the end of the day.
"Say no to animal abuse!"
"You piece of shit, can't you have compassion for life?"
"You are heartless monsters!"
All their chanting was just rubbish to Yuta's ears. Since he was a meat lover, this whole situation felt absurd. He'd had to drop out of college, so finding a job wasn't easy, but when he was offered cash that was three times what he normally earned in a day, he immediately accepted the offer.
Now he could only pray that all his efforts wouldn't lead to no pay.
Just as he was lost in thought, he heard a familiar voice behind him.
"Hey Yuta, when did you become a vegan, you bastard?"
It was the voice of the butcher who worked on site. He knew who Yuta was, as Yuta not only came to buy meat on credit but also visited his wife's restaurant to eat for free.
This had earned him the nickname "the meat debtor."
All eyes turned on Yuta, looking at him like they were about to do something evil.
"Wait, I can explain! Calm down. It's not what you think!"
Yuta tried to talk them down, but they weren't listening to him.
Luckily for him, he was standing at the side, not in the middle of the crowd.
He bolted out of there and headed straight to the busy road to mix with the crowd.
"Attack him!"
The angry mob chased after him, but most couldn't catch up to Yuta.
However, the athletes among them gave Yuta a hot pursuit.
"Damn you, old man! I'll make you pay for this!" Yuta cursed the butcher for ratting him out like that.
As the vegan athletes caught up to Yuta, who was now losing his breath, he didn't want to give up while being chased by angry vegetarians. He would rather be caught by the cops than fall into the hands of those angry mobs.
Just then, one of the vegetarians pushed Yuta, who by mistake collided with a mother and her baby in a stroller.
"Ahhhh, my baby! Somebody save her!"
The mother cried for help as a truck approached the stroller with the baby inside and Yuta, who was now lying on the ground from exhaustion.
Yuta looked up and could tell that either he or the baby could possibly make it out alive, or worse, both would die.
He wanted to be the one to escape death, but after thinking it over, he realized that even if he survived, it wouldn't only be the vegans after him. The cops would put him on the wanted list.
His body reacted on its own as he pushed the baby's stroller out of the way before his vision went dark.
Opening his eyes again, Yuta found himself inside a white room where he saw a man seated there.
"Hello, old man. Where's the way to heaven?" Yuta asked, not even caring who the person was.
"Just because you did one good deed, you think you're worthy of heaven?" The man just shook his head at the shameless request.
"Wait, so saving a baby doesn't make me a hero anymore?"
The man just stared at him from his hair down to his toes. This boy not only looked shameless, but the man could tell he was a greedy bastard who was lazy, which was why he'd failed in college.
"Okay, I can tell you that you died before your arranged date," the man said.
"I knew I was destined to live a long life!" Yuta said loudly as he laughed.
"I didn't say anything about you having a longer life, you punk. You were supposed to die before the end of the year." The man immediately countered Yuta, making the smile disappear from his face.
"That's crazy news to break, and I don't remember asking you for my death day." Yuta threw a jab back at the man. He wasn't the type to fear anything. Now that he was dead, what was there to be afraid of?
The man could only fume inwardly. His expression now showed that he wanted Yuta gone.
"Now can you please send me to heaven?" Yuta fell on his knees with tears in his eyes, pleading for the man's approval.
"It doesn't work like that. How about I send you to a new anime world of your choosing?" the man offered Yuta.
"Huh... really?" Yuta had never thought that stuff like reincarnation or transmigration was real. He'd always imagined it, but he knew deep down it was fake. He'd even tried creating a manga and a novel, but he'd flopped in both areas due to his laziness and not uploading for days.
"Yes, I can take you to your dream anime world with three wishes," the man said.
"Why an anime world? Can't you send me to a novel world?" Yuta asked, because he wanted to go to a fantasy world.
"You see, I don't have the power for that level of creation. So would you accept it or not?" The man was getting frustrated with Yuta and his requests, as if Yuta didn't realize he was doing him a favor here.
"Wait, sorry! I want it!"
Yuta immediately went to the man's legs and started rubbing his hands on them.
"Which world do you want, and list out your three wishes? But be aware, it comes with a price." The man said as he pushed Yuta away from him.
"I want... give me the Naruto world. My wishes are simple. One, I want to be an Uchiha. I want a healing ability. When I mean a healing ability, I want one where I can regrow lost body parts easily, surpassing even Hashirama by far. And for the last wish, I want the ability to have the strongest genjutsu without a Sharingan or hand signs. I want to become a genjutsu god."
The man could now confirm that Yuta was not alright after hearing his requests.
"Wait, why did you choose an Uchiha when you could have chosen other clans? Two, you want an overpowered ability. That's greedy. You might end up paying a great price for that. And for the last thing, I was even planning on giving you a system to guide you, but you are a criminal, Yuta."
"Fuck the great price. I can leave the village when that psycho is ready to kill the clan. And who said I want a system? That's a trap for newbies. Who knows what crazy system you're planning to send me? Just give me an inventory where I can hide things, okay? And support me with some funds in it." Yuta said as he chuckled.
The man could only shake his head at Yuta's reply before touching Yuta's forehead. The light blocked Yuta's vision.
