Chapter 89 Both are dragons, capable of laying eggs.

  'Gaa—Ooh!!!'

An angry cry rang out from Moltres's beak. With this roar, Moltres's aura rapidly increased, and its fire-type energy surged.

With each flap of its wings, waves of heat rippled outwards, terrifyingly powerful.

Moltres broke free of control, immediately and violently destroying the surrounding lightning needles, then approaching with its fiery wings.

This was not good news for Team Rocket, and the damage was beyond imagination.

It opened its beak, unleashing a terrifying jet of flame.

Such intense heat—if it hit them, the damage would be unimaginable; how could humans withstand it?   "Not good! Azumarill, use Hydro Pump!" Yamato reacted immediately, ordering his level 45 Azumarill to attack.

'Azumarill!' Azumarill was brave and fearless.

It must be due to its Thick Fat ability, which covered its entire body in a thick layer of fat, making it unafraid of fire-type attacks.

The water cannon fired, but Moltres's flames were no ordinary fire.

Contrary to expectations, the fire wasn't suppressed; instead, the water cannon was suppressed and quickly evaporated.

Although the volcanic terrain provided some protection, Moltres truly lived up to its legendary status as a second-tier fire-type god, still displaying such power even when heavily injured.

"Damn it! Aren't you going to help? Do you all want to die?" Yamato was furious.

"Nobody wants to die!" Kosaburo reacted immediately, ordering the Quagsire beside him, "Go, use the Water Gun to help Azumarill!"

The Quagsire, also over level 40 and at level 44, gave a sluggish cry, then unleashed its Water Gun, joining Azumarill in resisting Moltres's flames, barely improving the situation.

Meanwhile, the other four also immediately dispatched their respective Pokémon and commanded those around them to attack.

No one wanted to die here, nor did they want their previous efforts to be in vain, so they all chose to fight with all their might.

  ...

In the air, Natsuki saw this situation but didn't immediately intervene.

Moltres was currently in a desperate burst of power; if he intervened, he would also become its target.

Taking this opportunity, Natsuki analyzed Moltres's stats.

Previously, due to the distance, he was too far away; now, closer at a certain range, he could see them clearly.

  [Molotov Cage]

  [LV: 65]

  [Gender: Genderless]

  [Type: Fire, Flying]

  [Nature: Bold]

[Ability: Flame Body (Hidden Ability: Sometimes inflicts a burning status on any opponent it touches)]

[Moves: Gust, Leer, Ember, Safeguard, Wing Attack, Agility, Ancient Power, Burn, Air Slash, Roost, Heat Wave, Sunny Day, Hurricane, Endure, Overheat, Flamethrower, Divine Bird Slam…]

  [Friendship: Negative (Hate)]

  [Emotion: Rage (Destroy, humans!)]

  …

The level of 65 truly shocked Xia Mu. It

was 15 levels higher than in the game.

Although it was within his expectations, it was still a bit of a surprise.

The negative friendship level was within Xia Mu's expectations; after all, in a state of rage, in Moltres's eyes, all humans were birds of a feather.

"It's a pity. If you were at your peak, even if all these Pokémon were combined, or even if the number were doubled, they still wouldn't be a match for you..." Xia Mu sighed repeatedly.

Moltres was already at its last gasp; its final burst of power had ended, leaving it unable to fight, perhaps even collapsing from exhaustion.

"Pidgeotto~" (Master, shouldn't we make a move?)   "Awoo~!" (Let the dragons handle it; one dragon can take them all down.)   "Roar~" (What's the rush? Wait for Master's command.)   The voices of Pidgeotto, Dragonite, and Charizard echoed in his ears.

Xia Mu was somewhat amused, especially by the voices of Dragonite and Charizard.

Both were actually quite warlike, but Dragonite had joined the team later, while Charizard, having become Xia Mu's trusted lieutenant earlier, had a leader-like air about it.

Crucially, Dragonite was very obedient to Charizard, which puzzled Xia Mu.

He couldn't help but think that they were both from a dragon herd and could lay eggs.

"Wait a little longer, until Moltres is incapacitated, then we'll make our move," Xia Mu said, suppressing their burning fighting spirit. They

just wouldn't stop for a moment.

Monitoring the situation here, Xia Mu used his Aura to reconnect with the psychic abilities left behind by Mewtwo.

"How's it going on your end?" Xia Mu transmitted.

"Tracking them. These four are using special mechanical equipment that can withstand the high temperatures of magma. They've now penetrated deep into the underground cavern..." Mewtwo replied.

Real-time communication, except for the inability to share visual connections like before, was unimpeded.

"Be careful, especially the woman in the lead; she's no ordinary opponent," Xia Mu said.

  ...

  At the crater.

On the high ground covered in rubble, not yet covered by magma.

Moltres, after suppressing Azumarill and Quagsire, was ambushed by other Pokémon and injured again.

Its power surge during its burst phase was indeed beyond its limits, but its injuries hadn't fully healed. Even with a lower-level opponent, the damage could accumulate.

Moltres collapsed, crying out in pain.

Unwilling to accept its fate, it had no other choice.

"It's finally over! Number 1 and Number 2, immediately pilot the jets and use the heat-resistant nets to capture them! Don't make any more mistakes!" As the captain, Amadori gave the order.

Her command ability was remarkable, something that Musashi, her contemporary, couldn't match.

Musashi might be more ruthless than Amadori in some aspects, but in terms of intellect, there was a gap.

In the original story, Amadori's rapid promotions and raises were due to her intelligence, competence, and usefulness.

On the other hand, Kosaburo, a character supposedly comparable to Kojiro, couldn't compare. In

the original story, he was domineering and arrogant, always arguing with Kojiro, often getting angry over being called "Little Three" by others.

  His manners were undeniably inferior.

But then again, not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouth. Kosaburo was, after all, just an ordinary person. Despite his outstanding abilities, how could he compare to a young master's knowledge and experience? Besides, Kojiro was a genius in many areas, and his manners were beyond reproach.

Seeing his henchmen number one and two begin their operation, Kosaburo then directed the rest to prepare for a retreat.

"I say, aren't you guys being a bit too hasty and underestimating me? Or do you think I'll just watch you take Moltres away like this?"    Natsuki

controlled his Pidgeotto as it descended from the sky.

Instead of landing directly, he looked down at them from above.

Charizard and Dragonite stood on either side, like guardians, not allowing anyone to approach and harm Natsuki.
