Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Strong Loli Strikes Twice

The morning sun shone brightly through the studio windows, but Lin Xiao Yan was wide awake long before the cameras started rolling. Five years old, yet sharper than anyone around her, she had spent the night planning her next moves carefully.

Chen Zehao had been spotted again near the studio office. He thought he could quietly observe Xiao Yan and Hua Yichen, pretending to be just another investor. But Xiao Yan had been waiting. The moment had finally come to make him slip.

The show announced the new challenge: a "Mystery Game," where the children had to solve puzzles and retrieve hidden objects. Xiao Yan's eyes glimmered with mischief. A puzzle? Perfect cover for her plan.

"Mommy," she whispered, tugging Hua Yichen's hand, "follow me closely. Don't worry… I've got this."

Hua Yichen, still naive to her daughter's true cunning, smiled. "Okay, Xiao Yan, I trust you."

The game began. Other children scrambled, puzzled, and panicked. But Xiao Yan moved methodically, her small fingers deftly lifting objects, solving clues, and quietly guiding others to help—or subtly hinder—depending on her plan.

Then she spotted him. Chen Zehao, leaning against the edge of the set, trying to appear casual but clearly observing. Xiao Yan's tiny lips curved into a sly smile.

She "accidentally" dropped a clue right where he could see it—a small card with writing clearly meant for him:

"Chen Zehao, I see you."

His eyes widened. He tried to mask his panic, but Xiao Yan had already achieved step one: he knew she was onto him.

The cameras, of course, captured none of this, only the adorable little girl carefully placing puzzle pieces in place. The audience, unaware of the tension, continued cheering:

"Xiao Yan is too smart!"

"She's unstoppable!"

"Give her more episodes, please!"

Backstage, Xiao Yan pulled out the envelope she had found the day before, marked "To Liang Zhiwei." Her fingers trembled slightly—not from fear, but anticipation. This contained the proof her father needed to reconnect with her mother, and more importantly… the truth about her twin soul.

She leaned close to Hua Yichen and whispered:

"Mommy, soon… everything will change. Trust me."

Hua Yichen nodded, still unaware of the full depth of her daughter's plan. But Xiao Yan didn't need her to understand just yet. All that mattered was timing.

Later that evening, Xiao Yan orchestrated another "coincidence." While playing near the office, she dropped a small piece of paper in Chen Zehao's path. When he bent down to pick it up, she chirped innocently:

"Oh! Mister, is this yours?"

Chen Zehao froze. Xiao Yan's tiny gaze bored into him, almost commanding him to confess without words. His face paled. Somewhere deep inside, he knew this little girl wasn't just cute. She was dangerous.

Meanwhile, Xiao Yan noticed something strange: her body tingled with a faint warmth, as if something inside her was waking up. The twin soul fusion—the power that had always been dormant—was growing stronger. She could feel another presence, guiding her, helping her think faster, move quicker, and plan smarter.

She whispered to herself:

"Two souls, one mission. Protect Mommy. Expose Chen Zehao. Reunite the family
