Chapter 80 - Chapter 79: Rasengan

After a long while, Orochimaru, whose complexion had improved significantly, rose from his seat.

"The Nature Transformation of Wind Release—did you hear everything clearly?"

"Yes."

Uchiha Gen nodded slightly.

In the original timeline, both Kakashi and Asuma had guided Naruto in training for the Nature Transformation of Wind Release.

Relying on an uncountable number of Shadow Clones and a powerful physical recovery rate, Naruto had managed to compress a process that would normally take two years into just a few days.

The training method Orochimaru taught Uchiha Gen was not much different from Naruto's.

Although the finer details were impossible to verify, the overall flow was the same.

Perhaps this training process for Nature Transformation was already a well-established heritage within Konoha.

First, use Wind Release to augment kunai throwing to train the element's piercing power.

Next, use Wind Release to cut leaves.

Finally, use it to cut through a waterfall.

After these three steps were completed, Naruto had been able to integrate the Nature Transformation of Wind Release into the Rasengan, creating the incomplete Wind Style: Rasenshuriken.

Although it had the drawbacks of being unable to be thrown and harming the user, the power of that technique was unquestionable, reaching a level close to Kage-rank at the very least.

"Rasengan..."

Leaving Orochimaru's place, Uchiha Gen held a newly transcribed copy of a Medical Ninjutsu scroll in his arms, his mind racing.

He wondered if he currently had the ability to perform the Rasengan.

Simply using the Rasengan had nothing to do with Chakra attributes or nature.

The technique was obtained purely by honing Shape Transformation control to an extremely profound level.

During this period, his training focus had been on the Nature Transformation of Fire Release, but his Shape Transformation had also improved subtly as his proficiency increased.

Coupled with the Chakra control ability granted by the Young Tsunade character card, his ninja attributes had reached level 7.

"Let's try it now."

Uchiha Gen thought to himself, then extended his left hand and opened his palm.

A blue-white ball of Chakra light condensed in his palm.

It seemed to be missing something.

Suddenly, Uchiha Gen dispelled the light ball in his palm and looked to one side.

Someone was coming.

"Jiraiya-sensei, it's Gen-senpai!"

"It really seems to be him."

The voices of Minato Namikaze and Jiraiya rang out from the road ahead.

"Jiraiya-senpai, and Minato."

Uchiha Gen greeted the newcomers.

"Hahaha, it really is you! Long time no see."

"Did you just come from Orochimaru's place?"

Jiraiya stood with his hands on his hips, laughing heartily.

"Yes."

Uchiha Gen nodded to Jiraiya.

"How are Orochimaru's injuries? That woman Chiyo is not one to be trifled with."

"It's nothing serious; he's basically all healed up."

"Tsk tsk tsk, you brat are even more of a freak than Orochimaru was as a kid."

"To learn Medical Ninjutsu so quickly—even I heard about what happened in the medical area today."

Jiraiya looked at Uchiha Gen with a face full of admiration, feeling the same sentiment Tsunade had.

That fellow Orochimaru was truly lucky to have taken in such a disciple.

Fortunately, he believed his own disciple wasn't half bad either.

After spending time together recently, Jiraiya clearly knew how exceptional Minato Namikaze's talent was.

This was also a brilliant youth who had inherited the Will of Fire; he didn't even need much teaching.

As long as he was given the necessary materials, Minato Namikaze could learn on his own with his incredibly high comprehension.

"Then I'll accept your praise. I'm sure it won't be long before Minato also shines brilliantly."

Uchiha Gen said with a smile, his eyes glancing at the master-disciple pair, especially Minato.

The future inventor was right in front of him.

Even if Minato was still very young, it didn't stop Gen from asking for input.

Perhaps Minato, the genuine creator of the Rasengan in the original timeline, would have different inspirations.

"By the way, I happen to have a question I'd like to ask for your advice on."

Uchiha Gen tapped his head, pretending to have suddenly remembered something, and extended his hand again in front of the two.

The rotating blue Chakra light ball appeared once more.

"This is..."

Jiraiya's eyes narrowed.

"An instant, seal-less ninjutsu? I haven't seen Orochimaru use it, nor anyone else."

"Did you develop it yourself?"

Uchiha Gen nodded in response.

"Wouldn't it be more appropriate to ask your teacher Orochimaru about this?"

Jiraiya shrugged.

His own ninjutsu level was very high, but when it came to developing new techniques, he admitted he couldn't even touch Orochimaru's shadow.

Uchiha Gen shook his head.

"I showed it to Orochimaru-sensei, but back then the development of the technique was still quite primitive."

"Orochimaru-sensei also agreed the theory was sound, but he's been busy lately and hasn't had time to study it."

"Instead, he feels that since this is my technique, he'd prefer it to be completed by my hands rather than his."

"Brat, then isn't asking this Great One for help considered cheating?"

"Not really. I just wanted to see if you two could give me any inspiration."

"After all, Minato is a one-in-a-million genius, and Jiraiya-senpai is a rare top-tier powerhouse."

"Your vision and abilities are first-class; perhaps you'll have different insights."

Uchiha Gen's few sentences made Jiraiya beam with joy.

"Ah, it's nothing really! Although this Great One is dashingly handsome, does everything with ease, and is a domineering man famous throughout the lands who can make a crying child shut up, in other aspects, I'm only a tiny bit stronger than your teacher Orochimaru."

Jiraiya flamboyantly smoothed his spiky white hair, looking smug.

Minato, standing nearby, sighed and placed a hand over his forehead.

Catching Uchiha Gen's gaze, he gave an embarrassed smile in response.

He felt like pretending he didn't know the man.

But there was no helping it; his master's personality was just like this.

"So, Uchiha brat, if you have anything to ask, just ask this Great One directly!"

Jiraiya gave a thumbs-up pointing toward his own chest.

So, Uchiha Gen broke down the entire training steps of the Rasengan bit by bit and told Jiraiya.

The three talked as they walked, eventually arriving at Jiraiya's quarters.

A Special Jonin could apply for a small private room, and as one of Konoha's elite combatants in the Land of Rain, Jiraiya naturally had his own room, which was even a bit more spacious.

Compared to Orochimaru's place, which was filled with neatly arranged instruments and scrolls, Jiraiya's place was much emptier.

Aside from a bed, a table, a clothes rack, and a few chairs, there wasn't much else.

"Tsk, brat, explaining it in such detail is the same as directly passing a ninjutsu with infinite potential to us."

"You really don't have any wariness, do you?"

After hearing Uchiha Gen's explanation, Jiraiya looked at the few canned goods in front of them, which were steaming after being heated with Fire Release, and couldn't help but sigh with emotion.
