[3rd POV]
"Claire, is this really a good idea? Following Haley around, literally stalking her. We've been driving around for like an hour now trying to figure out what she is up to. And quite frankly my feet are killing me" Mitchell asked his sister as he sat in the back of Claire's minivan.
They had been following Haley all day now. Watching her as she went to the mall and went shopping. Noticing that she had bought some items that were...well, pretty damn expensive. More than anything she could just casually afford.
And yet she was able to bring out a debit card that none of them had ever seen and Claire had certainly not given her, and buy it all. Meaning she was somehow getting her own money, and that made Claire even more worried, which is why they were still spying on her.
Even as Alex and Luke stayed back at Mitchell and Cam's place to watch Lily.
"Yes, yes it is a good idea Mitch. Whatever she is doing is obviously big. Because there is no way in hell she can afford those dresses she was buying, did you remember the price tags? Thousands of dollars Mitch! That's not just casual money, that's something that you have to either do something huge for or do something illegal. And I'm trying to make sure it's not the latter" Claire said, not even thinking of stopping their "Work".
"...Well alright then, no need to yell. I just think it's very-" "Stalkerish? Creepy? Kind of reminds you of a serial killer?" Cam finished his words, as the man nodded in agreement.
"That" Mitch responded.
"Look, I understand it Claire, I really do. But I think you just need to trust Hal-" "Wait! She's stopping!" Claire cut off her brother again, the car that Haley was in stopping, as the girl in question got out.
The group all paused in surprise when they realized where this was.
"A...concert? Haley is going to a concert?" Claire said.
However she stopped when she heard the gasp from her brother.
"Oh. My. God! How did I not know there was an HD concert!?" Mitchell said with a face of shock. He looked horribly disappointed that he just found this out.
"What the hell is an HD Concert? Is it some sort of concert for DVD's?" Claire asked, very confused.
"What? No! It's the name of a singer!" Mitchell responded looking at her like she was stupid. And considering she didn't know HD, he was beginning to believe she was.
"She's one of the up and coming singers. And while that alone wouldn't be enough to bring out this sort of reaction. The fact that she has been featured in a song by Billie Eilish is what really is making him excited" Cam explained.
"And who is Billie Eilish?" This time both Cam and Mitchell looked at her like she was insane.
"You don't know who Billie Eilish is? My God you are so uncultured!" Cam gasped in genuine horror.
"She's only the biggest artist on the planet! She's won a ton of Grammy's, is breaking pretty much every record in music, and has been pumping out so many incredible songs! Hell, we played one of her songs "All of Me" at our last Anniversary. Seriously, she is amazing" Mitchell said, confused how it was even possible to not know Billie Eilish.
"Seriously, how the hell do you not know who Billie Eilish is? Have you not heard Ocean Eyes? Six Feet Under? Lovely which is the song HD is featured in?" Cam asked, lost on how this was even possible.
Their opinions on Claire was beginning to change rapidly.
"I've got no idea what the hell you're talking about"
"Okay, all you need to understand is that Billie Eilish is HUGE and has never shown her face, not even after three years of being popular. And HD has done work with her, and HD also hasn't ever shown her face. Meaning this concert I somehow have never heard about is the first time she has shown her face!" Mitchell responded, growingly concerned for his sister and her lack of knowing this sort of thing.
"Alright, you know what? I don't care. Let's get into that concert and see what she is doing" Claire said, while Mitchell and Cam cheered in excitement, before Mitchell decided to be the smart one.
"Do we have the money for that? I imagine the tickets have to be expensive" Mitchell asked.
"Hmm, looks like they're 50 for normal and 100 for VIP, not too bad. Cheap for a concert of this size. But we don't have cash on us and I don't think they take cards" Cam said after looking it up.
"Alright, I know who to call" Claire said.

"Alright, so why the hell am I here, and why am I bringing several hundred dollars with me?" A tall older man asked, looking like he wanted to be anywhere but there. This was Jay Pritchett, the father of Mitchell and Claire, husband to Gloria.
"We need to get into a concert because Claire is worried that Haley is up to something. And before you ask, it's because she hasn't asked for money in a month" Cam informed.
"Ooh, that is concerning. Alright, but you owe me for this" Jay responded, agreeing instantly that that was strange.
Everyone knew the type of person Haley was, and everyone knew that her not asking for money was weird as hell.
So with that, they walked up to buy tickets. What followed was some complaints by Jay once he heard the price, but those complaints were shut down by Claire and Mitchell as they dragged the man into the concert that would be starting soon.
And as they sat waiting, Claire jumped when she heard someone give her a pat on the back, only to see Phil standing there.
"Honey? What are you doing here?" Claire asked, surprised. The concert itself was in an open area and was already quite packed.
"Well Cam called and told me that this is where Haley was. And since I just got off work I thought I'd come over and join you guys!" Phil said with a grin, excited about the concert.
What he was not going to admit was that HD was his current favorite artist, with Billie Eilish being a close second. There was just something about HD's voice that felt so...similar.
He wasn't sure what it was about it though.
"...You know what, I am not going to even start right now" Claire said with a sigh as they began to walk closer to the stage which was quite large, the concert itself seemed to have enough space to house a few thousand people. It was pretty sizable.
"How long do we have to wait? I told Gloria I'd be back soon, and Manny is gonna be a pain in the ass if this takes longer than an hour" Jay asked, as they had been standing there for around 20 minutes now, with the concert grounds now being full of excited people waiting for the concert to start.
"Well it might take longer than th-" Claire began, only to be cut off when the lights in the area began to dim, causing everyone to turn.
They had not seen Hayley anywhere, so they decided to find her after the concert was over.
As the lights began to dim the cheers of the crowd erupted, the sounds of violin echoing into acapella echoing into the area, as the large curtain covering the stage began to show the outlines of a figure.
[Seriously, I highly recommend listening to the different songs that will be showing up in this next part while reading this next part, as actually describing this is not easy...at all, and some of these songs will be blown through]
Honeymoon Avenue (Just look this song up, as it won't let me put in the link)
The sounds of a beautiful voice echoed, no words leaving her just yet, just a beautiful sound that was showing off just what her voice sounded like.
Before one of the acapella singers said the first words of the song.
"It's just the rascals" The voice echoed, and then they all began to listen as the voice of HD began to echo.
"I looked in my rearview mirror and~
It seemed to make a lot more sense
Than what I see ahead of us, ahead of us, yeah~
Uh, I'm ready to make that turn
Before we both crash and burn
'Cause that could be the death of us, the death of us"
As the woman sang, they watched as she moved across the stage, her figure outlined by the curtain covering her form. Her voice was...beautiful. And even Claire couldn't help but be taken aback the longer she listened.
It was by the end of the first song Honeymoon Avenue that the voice of the woman cleared, as they could all clearly hear what she said as the background sounds of the next song began to play.
"This curtain really does hide too much, doesn't it? I think it's about time we...lose it" The voice echoed, as the crowd cheered when the curtain dropped a moment later, and HD was revealed to the world while she began to sing.
BABY I - ARIANA GRANDE (Lyrics)
"Baby, I got love for thee so deep inside of me~
I don't know where to start (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, yeah (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
I love you more than anything
But the words can't even touch what's in my heart (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
No, no (Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)"
When the curtain did drop, the jaws of the entire Dunphy/Pritchett family dropped to the floor when they saw that HD was in fact...Haley.
"What the hell?! Haley is HD!?" Mitchell exclaimed in shock as he watched Haley effortlessly begin to sing along with her song, dancing in tandem with her backup dancers, hitting the high notes of her song without difficulty.
"HD, Haley Dunphy, it makes so much sense! No wonder I like her voice so much, it's cause it's my daughters voice!" Phil exclaimed in realization, shocked at the sight of his daughter in front of them all. But more than that, he was proud of her.
"Damn, kid really does have a good voice" Jay said with a small smile on his face, nodding along with her as she continued to sing through her album.
"...Oh she is so going to get it for hiding this from us! She can't just go off and become a pop artist without telling us!" Claire yelled, angry with her daughter.
[Link for the Album:
"God she is beautiful!" Cam exclaimed, as she sang through "Tattooed Heart" a smile on her face as she showed off in front of the entire crowd.
"Baby, don't you know you got all my love, all my love?~" Haley sang, as the family decided to forgo getting mad at her for now, and instead enjoyed her voice.
And by the time she got through the last song of her album, the crowd had already been shown that she could sing, and that she wasn't a product of autotune. She wasn't a fake, and was a true artist.
But when the final song came and was done, the crowd was all wondering what she would sing next, hoping that wasn't it, and it would seem that their hopes weren't going to be dashed.
Looking over the crowd, Haley had a smirk forming on her face, as she addressed them.
"What, you thought that was it? Sorry, while I might not have the largest selection of songs to pick from just yet...I know something who does~" She said with a teasing grin.
"I just hope you're ready to see her~" Haley finished, as the stage went dark, all lights cutting out, before the sounds of...a church bell rang, and the crowd erupted into gasps.
And they all heard a feminine voice echo, the voice of the biggest artist on the planet echoing, singing one line of a song, and that line was...
"My Lucifer is lonely~"

That's the end of the chapter!
So as it turns out, writing a character singing in writing is...really really difficult. Like, shockingly not easy. Which means I'll be relying on music videos and such until I can really get it down.
Go easy on me, this is my first time ever writing about a singer/musician mc.
And yes, I finished on another cliffhanger, I'm evil, mwahahahaha!
Anyways, have a good day!
