Chapter 21 – The Broken Loyalty
Our story begins from where it ended before.
Evil System Window slowly walks toward the MC's System Window.
"Just give up now."
MC's System Window replies,
"I cannot lose. My defeat means my master's defeat."
She stands up again and launches a powerful attack.
The ground starts cracking under the impact of the attacks,
but Evil System Window easily avoids every strike.
The fight has become difficult for the MC's System Window because outside, Kartik is changing the laws of the world.
Because of that, her power has become unbalanced, and she cannot use it properly.
Evil System Window dodges easily and says,
"You are so weak. Your master must be weak as well."
The System Window becomes even angrier and suddenly attacks her face,
leaving a small cut on Evil System Window's face.
Evil System Window says angrily,
"I thought I would give you an easy death,
but now I will kill you slowly and painfully."
As the MC's System Window attacks her with a spear…
Evil System Window quickly grabs the spear, breaks it,
and stabs it into the System Window's stomach.
The System Window is badly injured.
Blue-colored blood begins to flow from her wound.
Evil System Window says,
"I warned you earlier to surrender.
You wouldn't have suffered so much."
She sits down calmly.
The MC's System Window can no longer even stand.
At that moment, she hears the voice of her master, Navi,
calling her with tears in his voice:
"Sorry… please accept it now.
At least reply once.
I'm really worried about you."
MC's System Window whispers,
"Master…"
with tears in her eyes.
Evil System Window mocks her,
"Look, your master is calling you.
Go to him.
Unfortunately, you can't.
Here, only your voice can go outside, not you."
Evil System Window grabs her by the neck
and starts punching her face.
She punches her so much that blue blood stains Evil System Window's black clothes.
She beats her mercilessly until the MC's System Window faints
and then throws her to the ground.
Kartik arrives, walking calmly.
"Stop. I want to talk to her.
Wake her up."
Kartik says,
"Who beats someone like this?"
Evil System Window replies,
"I lost control in anger."
She steps on the MC's System Window's face
and lifts her up roughly.
The MC's System Window regains consciousness.
Her condition is terrible.
She can barely stand.
Kartik says,
"I want to ask you something.
Will you help us betray your master?
Your master trusts you more than anyone.
I don't only want betrayal.
I want to know what it is that protects him,
what he is hiding from the whole world."
MC's System Window replies firmly,
"I will never betray my master."
Kartik smiles creepily and says,
"Dark shadow, it's your turn to come out."
As it comes out, Kartik's eyes turn black.
Kartik says,
"Evil System Window,
look what you've done to this little girl."
Before the MC's System Window can understand anything,
Kartik suddenly pulls out a spear
and stabs it into her chest.
She collapses on the ground.
Evil System Window shouts,
"What have you done?!
She was useful to us!"
Kartik replies,
"Don't worry.
She will be even more useful after death."
Kartik grabs the MC's System Window by her hair and says,
"You will become the reason for your master's death.
Even after dying, this mistake will not let you rest in peace.
By sealing your power,
you have made our work much easier."
MC's System Window (dying) thinks,
"How did everything come to this…
I only wanted to stay with my master…"
She remembers the past—
the first time she met the MC,
when he had no power,
how Navi accepted her,
taught her how to cook,
and how they went on their first hunt together.
Crying, she says,
"Master, I don't want to leave you…"
With her final breath, she confesses her love:
"I love you so much.
When my family beat me and threw me out of the house,
you accepted me and taught me how to live.
I remember every day after you gave me my name.
You never let me face danger.
I will pray to God, Master…
If I am born again,
I want you to be my host.
I want to stay with you like this again."
We hear Navi's voice calling her again and again.
MC's System Window whispers,
"Please stop, Master…
Let me go…"
Slowly, the MC's System Window disappears.
After she vanishes,
only her System Core remains behind.
