"I live on the hill. My house is big. We can see it from afar. There is also a garden where tomatoes grow. I... I hate tomatoes," he fumbled with his words, blurting out whatever he could remember.
"There are also flowers there."
It hit Severine then. This kid might really be living in the house beside theirs.
She had also seen those shiny tomatoes before and had asked her nanny to bring her one. But her nutritionist had scolded her, forbidding her from eating anything that wasn't given to her by their team.
That house had been closed, only attended by servants. She hadn't noticed when someone had quietly moved in.
"Follow me," she said, turned around, and walked back along the path she had grown familiar with.
Halfway through, they met the nanny. Her clothes were disheveled again.
A male servant was holding her by the waist, helping her stand upright.
Severine's gaze lingered for a second before she looked away, her expression blank.
