The blueprint of the "Puppet Core" lay quietly on the corner of Sayo's workbench; every line and annotation condensed the wisdom of two worlds. Yet, a blueprint is only a vision on paper—turning it into reality requires materials, specialized tools, and above all else—capital.

The Production Department only supplied standard parts for mass-produced puppets, and the application process for R&D was a bureaucratic nightmare that would never approve a personal project for an apprentice. Those specialized Chakra-conductive metals and rare crystals for energy modulation carried price tags that made a Genin's stipend look like a joke. A wall of cold, hard reality stood between Sayo and his dream.

The Pitch

Sayo's gaze shifted to the wooden "Spider" on his table. After several rounds of refinement, its structure was stable and its movements fluid. Perhaps this was the key to unlocking the impasse.

That evening, Sharyu was home on leave. After a simple dinner, Sayo carried the "Spider" to the table. "Father, please take a look."

With a silent twitch of his finger, a Chakra Thread linked to the puppet. The "Spider" scuttled across the table, nimbly navigating around teacups and bowls before tapping Sharyu's finger with a wooden foreleg.

Sharyu's eyes widened. As a veteran, he saw the tactical value immediately. This wasn't a toy; it was a low-cost, high-fidelity reconnaissance tool. "You built this alone?"

"Yes," Sayo replied. "I call it the 'Spider.' It's designed for infiltration. I need to buy materials for a new energy core project, but I lack the funds. I thought... could I sell a few of these privately to raise the capital?"

The Market

Sharyu fell silent, appraising his son not as a child, but as a fellow shinobi. He saw the earnest hunger in Sayo's eyes and felt a surge of pride. "Setting up a stall would violate Village rules," Sharyu mused, "but private transfers to those in need... that can be arranged. I can talk to my old buddies in Logistics; their children just graduated and could use the edge."

He looked at Sayo sternly. "Price them fairly. No gouging. And don't let it interfere with your work."

"Understood!" Sayo nodded.

With Sharyu's backing, word spread through the "gray market" of Suna's logistics and production circles. Tota was the first to buy one for his cousin, a fresh graduate. Even Zhuo Si, who had learned the hard way how vital intel was during their Academy drills, quietly reserved a unit.

Foundations of Sand and Steel

Sayo spent his nights scavenging high-quality scrap from the Maintenance Squad and assembling the "Spiders" with meticulous care. He kept the operation small and discreet, but the modest profits began to accumulate.

He stashed the earnings in a floorboard cache, spending every coin on the costly experimental metals and high-purity crystals needed for the Puppet Core. Watching the rare materials accumulate on his bench, Sayo felt the first tremors of his dream becoming physical.

The road was long, but with his own hands, he was carving it out. He wasn't just building puppets; he was funding a revolution.
