As the word itself describes. One might hope the waiting process wouldn't be too long but fate was testing Sullivan's patience.
He couldn't wait for too long anymore. He had to ease Anna into his feelings. Let her know he wanted something more than the friendship she was offering.
He wanted the things she tried to hide in the darkest corners of her heart. To show her that he could love in a way she had never seen. In a way she deserved. Kiss the ground she walks on and worship her for the rest of his life. For only Annabelle Harbinger could bring life to him.
Normally, it would have worried him that they were of different species with her being in the dark about the sort of being he is. But Sullivan had thought it through countless times. Each time he attempted to convince himself he wasn't worthy of her. Wasn't worthy of receiving the happiness she would bring to him.
