The kingdom of Atlas was very busy today especially the palace. The maids were busy replacing what the King,Zarek, broke in his anger while scolding his first wife Starlight,the prices of the neighboring kingdom,Moon Grove over the same matter,why hasn't she bore him a child.
Queen Starlight sat in her room crying,it wasn't her fault that she couldn't give birth, but if it isn't her fault then who is it?,the king?
She continued sobbing as her maids tried to calm her down but failed,she was far from being composed or comfortable with her situation.
"Why can't I just have a child?"she muttered and sniffed wipping her tears.
"My Queen, it's not like that, everyone has their time-"
"Then where's mine?, I've been married to the king for five years and still haven't gotten pregnant and now look,his second wife is laughing at me because she has a son and a daughter for him"she said and sniffed
"My lady,u have to be patient"the other maid said and Starlight sighed
"You can leave now,go, leave me be"she muttered, tears brimming in her eyes.
The maids sighed helplessly and left, leaving Starlight to comfort herself.
The next day everyone gathered for breakfast but Starlight was no where to be seen.
"Where is Starlight?!"Zarek snapped angrily at the servant who mostly is by her side.
"My Lord, she said she is feeling unwell and decided to stay in her room to rest"the maid replied shaking.
Zarek frowned and stood up
"U don't have to go to her,u can ask a maid to do it"his second wife, Queen Vanessa who was a maid before getting pregnant said.
"The maids would probably come back without her"Zarek replied and walked away heading to Starlight's room.
A knock on the door came but Starlight was too weak to open it, she'd been throwing up all morning.
"Who is it?"she asked,her voice like a whisper.
The door opened and Zarek walked in but seeing her situation made him frown. She looked pale,paler than normal,her eyes held dark circles underneath, the temperature was scorching hot but she was shivering under her blanket.
"Are you ok?"he asked walking to her but she remained quiet and looked away from him.
"You're burning up"he said placing a hand on her forehead.
"Not like u care, leave me alone"she muttered and turned around but then she suddenly sprang up, ran to the bathroom and vomited clear water.
Zarek watched her as she dragged her feet to the bed and layed down to sleep,she was becoming paler by the minute.
He couldn't take it anymore,he might scold her, might hit her but he cared about her. So he called the doctor to examine her and the results were an ear opener.
"Congratulations My Lord, the Lady is with child,two if I'm not mistaken, she's seven days gone,which means she's to deliver in two days time"the doctor said and Zarek smiled.
In their world,a woman only carries pregnancy for nine days, not weeks nor months.
Zarek couldn't stop the smile that found its way to his lips and he didn't care,his wife was finally pregnant.
He approached her as she layed looking at the ceiling of her room,she heard his footsteps but didn't bother to spare him a glance.
"What are you doing here?"she asked,a tinge of coldness in her voice.
"Don't be like that Star, it's a happy day, you're pregnant and due to deliver in two days"Zarek said sitting on the bed with her but she moved away and sat on the couch not bothering to look at him.
"I knew I was pregnant but I didn't bother to tell anyone, u should have just killed me and the babies!"she snapped angrily and huffed.
"I'm sorry Star, I promise to be a good father,so no more sulking, this is good news"
Zarek said with a smile on his face staring at Starlight.
Starlight sighed unsure of what to do and say so she just stood up and walked out heading to the palace garden but was stopped by a honey coated voice with a touch of viniger.
"Hello darling...."
