"I think this take will come out best from the right."
"Let's take it from the right side, Alex."
Both Alexis and Mathew said in unison and couldn't help but laugh together.
"Don't steal my line, brute!" Alexis comically let her eyebrows dance at Mathew.
"No way! You stole mine," Mathew pursed his lips in response, declining the accusation.
"How funny, ha ha ha. I'll shift the angle," Tina clapped in fake amusement before fixing the angle.
She was tired of these two going over same conversation each time their opinion matches; which is basically everytime.
Alexis looked at her poor assistant, irritated by their banter and felt sorry. Their joke is getting old, they need to game up, she thought.
The scene they trying to capture was of a couple confessing and kissing while the main characters look at them in a distance with longing. The scene needs to be done the way the sunset can compliment their costume and look. But it was hard to get the proportion because it's not even the sunset yet and they need to set the shoot and be done with it by today.
She wanted to alsmot strangle Mathew as he declined to continue the shoot without her. That's why she liked much more doing a wildlife photography project because she can do anything she want in solo so that Mathew won't stuck behind her back like a demon of a partner to urge her to work like that.
"Don't look at me like you hate me. I know you secretly love me like crazy, honey," Mathew returned back her annoyed gaze with a wink.
"I'll mix a bag of salt in your honey, Mathew Warner."
"Go ahead, you will still taste sweet to me."
Alexis felt like giving up as she never gets to win with his flirtatious lines. Sometimes people around them get the wrong idea thinking they are dating but only her teammates know that this is how they communicate with each other. They even stopped hoping that anything will ever happen to this weird duo.
"You guys done with setup? There's only one or two hours left before the sunset, Alex," Director Kim took his entry in the set to see if everything was going okay.
"Don't worry, it's almost done. We can wrap up well today," Alexis reassured him with a smile.
"Welcome back, Alex. Everyone missed you here," he returned the smile back. "Let's hold a party after the shoot. In this beach, what do you say?"
"But I think we need it for two more scenes, the one in third scrip and fifth one too. They would suit better in beach, don't you think so?"
Kim seem to think for a while and then finally looked at her in amusement.
"Genius. I think that's a great idea."
"Then we should do that today, too?"
Kim shrugged her opinion. "No, no. Everyone is tired, they need a little break. You also must be jetlagged. Tonight, don't push yourself and just relax a bit."
Kim suggested everyone to stay until late night for the after party today.
Alexis sighed a bit. She preferred if they finished the work first and relax later but it seems like director wanted everyone to have a break. Parties don't relax her, just makes her more suffocated.
Alexis finally got the chance to switch on her phone to find there was no new notification except Rebecca sending a few pictures of her honeymoon. She reached love to each of them and got back to her hotel room for a shower. They need to shoot the sunset scene and then be done with the day.
As she hoppped in shower, her doorbell rang. Must be the room service.
She wrapped a towel around her as she was expecting a female room service but then when she opened the door it wasn't the room service. It was Mathew.
"Where is your manners, dude?"
She squinted her eyes in irritation although it isn't the first time he did this. Mathew didn't bother in what state she was in but decided to settle insider her comforter.
"My room conditioner isn't working. Spare me your bed," he said, making himself home in her room.
"At least put off your shoes, man! It's dirty," Alexis cringed.
"Ask the room service to change it later," he shrugged and went to sleep.
Alexis exhaled a huge sigh and decided to give up on him. She grabbed a t-shirt and a pant this time before returning back to bathroom.
"Wear something good for the evening. We are partying tonight," Mathew mumbled under the comforter making Alexis roll her eyes in response.
The shoot was done accordingly the way Alexis and Mathew wanted and it came out pretty nice. The actors wanted to excuse themselves for the night but crew members didn't seem to care about it much as they wanted to party more.
Director requested the actors to stay until 10 pm and so there was no way Alexis can excuse herself before 10 pm for the record.
Good bye sleep fairy.
Alexis wore a simple summer frock in solid sky blue with a low v-cut neck style which complemented her cleavage perfectly.
Mathew and Tina were on their third drink already and urged Alexis too.
"Did you already forget the last time I was drunk? If you did, I can remind you?" Alexis scowled. She can't handle her drinking at all, she has zero tolerance.
"Don't worry, babe. We can take care of you together, promise," Mathew urged her again while side hugging her and offering her a glass.
"Mathew, please, no," Alexis squeezed her temple in tension.
"One won't hurt, come on," Tina nudged this time.
"Alex, Kim asked for you," Ron, one of her teammates called for Alexis and she felt like it was her only chance to escape drinking.
Alexis showed her middle finger to both of them and ran behind Ron.
"Just give up, Mathew. She doesn't even notice you look at her all the time," Tina sighed while chugging on her drink.
"Because she doesn't look at anyone," Mathew replied, shifting his gaze to Tina from Alexis's retreating back.
"And how does that help you?"
"It doesn't and I don't want her to look at me if she doesn't want to. But I can and that's why I'm doing it."
"That's the only thing you can," Tina pointed.
"Did I ask for more?" Mathew objected.
"No, but you're a good guy. Aren't you wasting your time there?" Tina looked a little confused. She never understood why Mathew kept himself hung up on Alexis when she never intends to date him, or even any other guy at all. She is just so unaware of her popularity among her own team.
"That's my business."
Mathew always gave the easy-going chill guy aura that even Tina didn't know if he could look as serious as he was looking right now. She didn't know how much invested he was upon his business partner as he kept it under the cover.
Tina was naturally an observant person but for a single second just now, she felt like she couldn't really measure the interest Mathew had for Alexis. And for that exact second, she felt his feelings for Alexis was way deeper that she thought it was.
Alas! Love is the best way to brainfuck people.
