Chapter 1 - This is the story of a king

The story begins by establishing India as a land of rich heritage and prosperity, which faced numerous invasions from foreign forces like Afghans, Turks, and Mughals. Despite their unparalleled bravery, the Rajputs of Mewar were often overpowered, leading to a period of struggle.

In these challenging times, Maharana Pratap is born, destined to become a symbol of courage for the entire country. A devotional song about Pratap plays during this segment.

Pratap's mother, Rani Jaivanta Bai, sends him to fetch special lotus flowers for her puja. She expresses strong faith in his commitment, stating that his word is a promise.

While collecting flowers, Pratap encounters a crocodile but shows no fear, calmly retrieving the flowers.

Pratap's mother teaches him about his valiant ancestors, emphasizing that his bloodline is that of great warriors and that he must live up to their legacy of strength and bravery.

Pratap is captivated by a traditional family sword. His mother explains that it's not an ordinary weapon but a symbol of the राजवंश's honor, chosen by destiny for someone embodying patriotism, valor, and sacrifice. She states that only when he truly embodies the pledge to protect the nation will the sword come to him.

The scene shifts to a year prior, showing Maharana Uday Singh facing a difficult decision to surrender to Sher Shah to prevent further bloodshed, despite his commanders' desire to fight. He explains that true victory requires strategy and the right time.

Maharana Uday Singh vows to reclaim Mewar's independence from Sher Shah, promising not to rest until the honor is restored.

Uday Singh plans a secret meeting with his chieftains, emphasizing that the information must not reach Shams Khan.

Shams Khan is shown in his camp, displaying his brutal nature by torturing his own men and expressing his desire to eliminate Uday Singh's entire lineage.

Pratap shows deep affection and care for his step-mother, Rani Bhatiyani, even going out of his way to find raw mangoes for her when she expresses a craving.

Pratap's brother, Shakti, is shown practicing sword fighting, showcasing his competitive nature and desire to surpass Pratap, damaging property in the process.

Pratap seeks raw mangoes for his step-mother and is told they can be found in the Afghan camp. Despite warnings that entering the Afghan camp is forbidden, Pratap bravely decides to go, reasoning that if the Afghans took their land, he can at least take mangoes.

Shams Khan reiterates his intent to provoke Uday Singh into a mistake, planning to annihilate his entire family in retaliation.
