Raziel went up the basement stairs.
Lucian grabbed his arm. "Wait."
Raziel stopped but didn't turn around. "What?"
"You can't go alone."
"Yes, I can."
"No." Lucian tightened his grip. "You won't."
Raziel pulled away. "This isn't your problem."
"Yes, it is." Lucian stood in front of him. "You said it yourself. We're in this together."
"That was before the Inquisition put a price on my head."
Raziel went back down the stairs and walked to the opposite wall of the basement.
Odessa crossed her arms. "If Arawn has proof, why didn't he just show it to the Inquisition?"
"Because he doesn't trust them." Raziel leaned against the wall. "And because he needs something from me first."
"What?"
"Access to the Council of Exarchs."
Garrett let out a dry laugh. "That's impossible."
"I know." Raziel closed his eyes.
The System notification was still there, floating in his inner vision.
