The dragon looked at the spear in my hand somehow for her, everything clicked. She called forth the three slimes and introduced them. The energetic one was called Aqua, the calm one was called Blue and the last one who blocked the earlier attacks from the swordswomen was called Elio. The dragon gave me the offer of taming the slimes as my first tamed creatures. I was against it because it seemed like they were attached to her. The slimes pounced on me complaining." Why don't you want us Lucas?" Aqua asked bouncing on my face.
" We can become strong," said Blue worriedly.
" I want to hear you sing more," said Elio calmly.
" But won't you miss her? I mean she raised you, she's like a mother to you. I wouldn't want to rip apart a mother and her children," I said managing to get up.
The dragon broke into laughter. When she managed to collect herself, she said," Do not worry, my children just need to see more of the world. i can't keep them confined to my small forest. They are strong enough to take down a wyvern on their own so I believe that they will at least be useful o your journey young paladin."
I looked at her then at the slimes. The slimes were giving me puppy dog eyes and i felt like I could no loner deny their request. I agreed to tame them and they started bouncing all over the place humming my song. Now I sat their thinking how I'm supposed to use my taming skill when a voice erupted in my head again," Master, to use your ' Tame skill ', all you have to do is hold out your hand say your conditions. Nothing more."
I thanked the voice before asking myself where the voice was even coming from all this time. I asked mentally," Who or what even are you?"
" Excuse me for my late introduction. I don't yet have a name but in terms of your previous world, I am what you would refer to as a system," it said.
" I guess we will be working together. I think I will call you Rana, has a nice ring to it don't you think," I said mentally and she agreed.
I smiled as I raised my hand and said onto the slimes," Here my conditions," almost immediately magic circles started to appear under them," You are to never leave my side unless ordered to. Never leave a comrade to die if you can help it. Consider your health and safety above mine and if you see that i might die for real, seek out your mother. Is that understood."
" Understood," they said in tandem.
" Then I guess we won't see you again mom," said Elio.
" Why is that my child?" she asked.
" Because no matter what, we will never let our master's life ever come to harm," said Blue with a smile.
The slimes broke into joyful tears as they hugged the dragon goodbye. Afterwards, the dragon decided to give me a farewell gift. I agreed and she put her claw to my forehead. I felt a rush of energy flowing in my veins. Then Rana spoke," Legendary skill earned: Voice of the forest has been acquired Rank A. It allows user to control nature to a certain degree."
I smiled at the revelation. The dragon then said as she walked back to the forest," Be careful young tamer, the world is much beyond your capability as of now. At the very least get yourself a mount. That should increase your capability in this world."
As soon as she entered the forest, she disappeared. I was still thinking about my situation when I heard my mother call me from behind. I turned to meet her gaze and their she was with my sisters." Hi brother," Luna greeted.
" Why are you playing with a bunch of slimes in the meadow?" Lynn asked.
I was about to answer when mother said," Weren't you supposed to be heading to the adventurer's guild?"
" Oh yeah, that's right." I said as i bolted into the city.
The slimes shrank to the size of small rocks and rode on my shoulder. I was still thinking when my body hopped onto the spear and rode it like a skateboard. Then Rana said," It looked like you were having tapping into the skills and techniques etched into the spear so I did it for you. On of the past paladins had a tendency to use the spear as a means of transport due to its capabilities. This should be more efficient master."
I thanked her and rode it through town. The townsfolk were in awe but took it to be some sort of magic trick. I guess their brains cannot accept what is right in front of their face. I finally arrived at the guild a minute after entering town and got off the spear. I was sure the spear would cause a ruckus so i wanted to hide it when it cut open a tear in space and went in that same tear. I asked Rana if that was her doing and she agreed. I chuckled in fear at the amount of power I had to understand got a under control. I went into the guild and the place was laden with rough looking adventurers. Some with large scars while others had eyepatches. But they all had one thing in common, they were all drinking and being merry. i ignored them and walked to the reception but that did not stop them from acknowledging my presence. The glares were making the slimes to shake so i hurried up my feet and got to the reception. The receptionist asked me," How may I help you Lucas, been a while?"
" Yeah, it has been a while. I wanted to register as an adventurer. Is that possible?" I asked acting as meek as possible.
That made the other adventurers laugh at me but the receptionist, an old friend and my spear trainer [ according to my memories] , said he would do my paperwork since we knew each other but the magic aptitude test i had to take on my own. He placed a crystal ball on the reception and asked me to place my hand on it. The adventurers told him not to waste his time with me because i was a snot-nosed brat. I did what i was asked and it instantly radiated white light. The mockery that i was hearing before went silent. I was sure water magic is one of the attributes i had but what the receptionist said caught me off guard. I asked what the light meant and he said that I had the null attribute. An attribute only known to belong to paladins since it grants the user the ability to learn all attributes of magic. I was shocked when i heard someone fall down behind me. i turned to see on of the adventurers on the ground as he shouted, " HE'S A PALADIN!"
