Jay POV
The harbor was covered in fog.
Tall cranes towered over the docks like giant metal skeletons.
Shipping containers were stacked everywhere in long rows.
The air smelled like salt and diesel.
Carlos checked the signal on his laptop.
"He's here."
The blinking dot showed one building.
A large warehouse near the edge of the dock.
Nathan scanned the area with binoculars.
"Too quiet."
Miguel nodded.
"Way too quiet."
Keifer stood beside me with his hands in his jacket pockets.
"He knows we're here."
"Of course he does," I said.
Carlos glanced at me.
"So what's the plan?"
I looked at the warehouse again.
Too obvious.
Too open.
Kaiser wasn't stupid.
Which meant this place was probably filled with traps.
I turned to the group.
"We split."
Felix blinked.
"Split?"
"Yes."
I pointed toward the map on Carlos's laptop.
"Nathan and Miguel take the north side."
They nodded.
"Carlos,Endrix and Hannah stay outside and monitor everything."
Carlos grinned.
"Tech support."
"Hannah," I added, "prepare countermeasures."
She pulled out a small gadget and smiled.
"Oh I came ready."
I turned to Keifer.
"You and the Section E boys come with me."
His expression sharpened.
"Front door?"
"No."
I pointed toward a loading entrance on the side of the building.
"We go in quietly."
Felix cracked his knuckles.
"I was hoping for quiet."
Ci-N rolled his eyes.
"You've never been quiet in your life."
Felix shrugged.
"First time for everything."
I looked back at the warehouse.
Somewhere inside…
Hex was waiting.
"Let's move."
