Chapter 195 - Chapter 192 – No Escape

Jay POV

For a moment after Jeana finished speaking…

No one moved.

The hallway was completely silent.

You could almost hear everyone breathing.

I looked at her.

Really looked at her.

The woman standing in front of me… the woman who had just admitted she tried to kill her own daughter… didn't look guilty at all.

She looked annoyed.

Like this whole situation was simply inconvenient.

Angelo was the first to react.

His jaw tightened as anger flashed across his face.

"I've heard enough."

His voice was cold.

Sharp.

Final.

He turned slightly toward the security team that had followed the party outside.

"Call the police," Angelo said firmly.

"Right now."

Jeana's confident smile disappeared instantly.

Andy stiffened beside her.

"Wait," Andy said quickly. "Let's talk about this."

But Angelo wasn't even looking at them anymore.

Security guards immediately moved forward.

Jeana's eyes widened.

"You can't do that," she snapped.

Angelo slowly turned back to her.

"Oh I absolutely can."

She laughed nervously.

"You have no proof."

Aries stepped forward calmly.

"Yes we do."

Jeana's smile slowly faded.

Aries raised a small device in his hand.

"A recording."

The hallway filled with quiet murmurs.

Andy's face went completely pale.

"You… recorded it?" he whispered.

Aries nodded.

"Every word."

Felix crossed his arms.

"Congratulations. That confession was very clear."

Carlos shook his head in disbelief.

"I still can't believe someone would say that out loud."

Jeana suddenly stepped backward.

"Andy," she whispered.

Andy looked toward the exit.

Then suddenly—

They ran.

"STOP THEM!" Angelo shouted.

Security rushed forward immediately.

But Andy grabbed Jeana's hand and pulled her down the hallway.

People moved aside as they tried to escape.

Unfortunately for them…

Two people were already standing in their path.

Keifer.

And Hex.

Keifer crossed his arms calmly.

"Going somewhere?"

Hex leaned slightly against the wall.

Still only thirteen.

But the look in his eyes was sharp.

"Not happening."

Andy tried to push past them.

Keifer grabbed his arm instantly and twisted it behind his back.

Andy cried out in pain.

At the same time Hex stepped in front of Jeana, blocking her path completely.

She tried to shove him aside.

"Move!"

Hex didn't move an inch.

"You tried to kill my sister," he said quietly.

"You're not going anywhere."

Security finally reached them and grabbed both Jeana and Andy.

Jeana struggled angrily.

"Let go of me!"

Angelo walked toward them slowly.

His face looked darker than I had ever seen it before.

"You tried to poison your own daughter," he said.

His voice was low.

Dangerous.

"You should be grateful she's alive."

Jeana scoffed.

"She's alive because she cheated."

I stepped forward.

Everyone turned to look at me.

For a second…

My chest felt tight.

Not because I was scared.

But because this was the moment I had been waiting for my entire life.

I stood directly in front of her.

She looked at me with that same cold expression she had always worn.

"You should've stayed down," she said.

"You would've saved us all a lot of trouble."

The words should have hurt.

But strangely…

They didn't anymore.

I looked at her calmly.

"You know something?" I said quietly.

Jeana frowned.

"I spent years wondering why my own mother never loved me."

The hallway stayed silent.

"I thought maybe I wasn't good enough."

My voice stayed steady.

"Maybe I disappointed you."

Jeana rolled her eyes.

"Oh please."

But I kept going.

"Now I finally understand."

I looked straight into her eyes.

"It was never me."

Her expression hardened.

"It was you."

Behind me, Hex stepped closer.

Keifer stood beside me.

And for the first time in my life…

I didn't feel alone.

Police sirens suddenly echoed outside the building.

The officers arrived quickly.

Security handed Jeana and Andy over to them.

As the police placed handcuffs on her wrists…

Jeana glared at me one last time.

"This isn't over," she said coldly.

I didn't respond.

Because for me…

It already was.

The officers began leading them away.

The hallway slowly filled with relieved voices.

Felix let out a long breath.

"Well," he muttered.

"That party escalated quickly."

Ci-N shook his head.

"Next time we launch a program… let's try not to include attempted murder."

Some people laughed weakly.

But my eyes drifted to Hex.

He looked up at me.

"You okay?" he asked.

I nodded slowly.

Then Keifer gently placed a hand on my shoulder.

"Hey," he said softly.

"It's over now."

And for the first time in a long time…

I believed him.
