She opened her mouth to speak, but Dominic interrupted.
"You've said enough bullshit since the start of this dinner, aren't you tired?"
"Hey, watch it!" Carlo snapped.
"Calm down!" Mr. Silvestri interjected.
The dinner wasn't going well. It was supposed to be a family dinner, one that would make him meet Dominic's partner and get the family to be together once again. Unfortunately, it wasn't going as planned.
"But uncle," Caterina began, finally speaking since the start of the dinner. "Would you want someone like her to be your daughter-in-law? I heard that she disappeared from her family for five long years and no one knew of her whereabouts. Who knows what she'd been doing for those past five years? For all we know, she could be a hooker."
Something shifted in Delfina's eyes. Her jaw ticked as her eyes landed on Caterina.
