"Jaxon, send me that file," Elara said, her voice dropping into a cold tone.
"Oh, Director Elara, you think business is a game?" Jaxon leaned back, his eyes sparkling with fake hurt. "How can I just give this away for free? I have a family to feed. I'm the breadwinner, you know. I have to work hard to support my kids."
Elara rolled her eyes. Jaxon was being incredibly difficult, but she had expected this. He was a shark who smelled a payout, and she was sure that he had intentionally filmed that video after knowing what Elara had been up to these days.
She tapped her fingers on the marble table, her mind working like a calculator.
"I'll change our profit-sharing deal for the next six months," she offered. "You'll get a bigger cut."
Jaxon scoffed, sounding deeply insulted. "This woman has no business ethics! Do you think money grows on trees? It's a miracle your company has lasted this long with an attitude like that. You're trying to rob me."
