Bella's POV
More than a day had passed since they brought us to this place. Time meant nothing in a windowless room where the only clock was the growing ache throughout my body. They separated Fiona and me the moment we arrived, dragging us down different corridors while she screamed my name.
Was she still alive? Had they released her? The questions gnawed at me like hungry wolves.
This building felt different from the last one. Eerily quiet, as if the walls themselves held their breath. I could hear my own heartbeat echoing in the silence, making me question if I was still among the living. Curled up on the narrow bed with my knees pressed against my chest, I fought to keep the trembling at bay. My throat felt like sandpaper, and cold sweat made my neck burn.
I had been holding myself together through sheer will, but alone in this suffocating room, reality crashed over me like a merciless tide.
