Two things were pressing heavily on Lord Jethro's mind, both equally suffocating, both threatening to drive him out of control as he walked down the hallway and descended the stairs leading away from Grey's room.
The first was Grey himself.
The way he reacts to him.
Everything about his reaction screamed that there was something about himself he had never acknowledged, or maybe something he had never allowed himself to see.
And if he had truly marked Grey without being aware of it, without remembering it, then that must mean something far more unsettling than the drug's influence alone.
Maybe he had always wanted Grey and had simply buried the thought so deeply that it only surfaced when his guard was torn down.
Maybe he had felt too much and his instincts had taken over before his mind could stop them.
Maybe, in that unconscious state, he had wanted Grey to belong to him in a way he had never consciously allowed himself to admit.
"No. That can't be." He murmured.
