Yaeko considered herself an undisputed career woman.
She founded her company at twenty-four, and now at thirty-five, she has grown it into a multi-billion-dollar enterprise.
The first half of her life could be described as smooth sailing; because she poured all her energy into the company, she had no plans to start a family.
Of course, she didn't lack suitors.
But two months ago, a problem arose in her life.
It started with a confession from a business partner—a very fat man who would sweat at the slightest movement.
He always clutched a handkerchief, constantly wiping his forehead.
To Yaeko's surprise, the man suddenly confessed his feelings to her at the office for no apparent reason.
Naturally, Yaeko rejected him.
The matter wasn't even worth mentioning.
Who would have thought that a few days later, Yaeko would start having dreams.
She dreamed that the greasy man who had confessed was constantly chasing her, and out of fear, Yaeko kept running.
Waking up felt even more exhausting than not sleeping at all.
She thought it was just a case of dreaming at night what one thinks of by day.
As it turned out, for a long time afterward, Yaeko dreamed of that disgusting man every single day.
Every day, he appeared in Yaeko's dreams.
And each time, he got closer and closer. Just a few days ago, Yaeko was even caught by him; she clearly remembered the sensation of those greasy hands touching her body.
At this point, even though Yaeko was a materialist, she had to believe she was being haunted by an evil spirit.
She sought out many Exorcists, but they all turned out to be frauds.
They would come and perform some rituals, but the nights remained the same.
Just as Yaeko was despairing, she saw the message posted by Akuto.
That arrogant tone and the outrageous price made Yaeko instinctively believe that the poster had real skill.
After all, without talent, who would dare ask for so much?
Yaeko might not care about small change, but if four million yen yielded no results, she would definitely report it to the police as fraud.
Therefore, scammers usually didn't dare to ask for such a high price.
And now, Akuto had identified her problem with just a glance, making her want to cling to this life-saving straw with all her might.
Akuto listened quietly to Yaeko's story without interrupting.
Even Miko couldn't help but feel curious.
She didn't think Akuto was such a patient person.
"So, he really is a pervert, isn't he? He can't refuse when he sees this type of woman..."
Miko felt contempt in her heart, but for some reason, she also felt an inexplicable twinge of sourness.
"Since you're finished, let's talk about the price."
"4.5 million."
Yaeko didn't react much to the price; she looked at Akuto curiously:
"Is it because this evil spirit is very troublesome?"
Akuto gave Yaeko a puzzled look:
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
"Five hundred thousand is the price for listening to your story. Pay up."
At that moment, both Miko and Yaeko's legs went weak, and they nearly collapsed to the ground.
Miko felt sorry for her earlier assessment of Akuto, yet she also felt inexplicably happy.
Yaeko gave an awkward but polite smile, feeling a bit embarrassed and annoyed.
Who listens to a beautiful woman's story and then expects her to pay for it?
If she put out the word that she wanted to tell a story, countless people would probably line up to pay just to listen.
"Alright, there's 4.5 million in this card. The PIN is on the back. Please accept it."
After doing something on her phone, Yaeko pushed a card forward with both hands.
Akuto picked up the card without hesitation, then looked at the four-eyed fat man clinging tightly to Yaeko's back.
"Hey, you pig, you heard that, right? I have taken the money. If you don't want to die, beat it."
"You... you can see me? You can see me!"
"I'll kill you!"
Yaeko felt her body lighten for a moment as a gust of wind blew past her ears, causing her long black hair to flutter.
Looking closely, she saw a massive monster, at least three or four meters tall and weighing several tons, lunging out from behind her with surprising agility.
The stench emanating from the monster and the greasy substance oozing from the folds of its fat made Yaeko instinctively want to vomit.
But fear overrode her physical reaction.
"Aaaaah!!"
Yaeko screamed, scrambling backward on all fours.
This was the first time she had actually seen the monster. She hadn't expected... it really existed!
Akuto, sitting on the sofa, picked his ear and raised his hand, saying calmly:
"Dismantle!"
"Shatter!"
"Eeeeeeek!!!"
Yaeko heard a shrill scream and watched with her own eyes as the monster was sliced into several pieces.
Foul-smelling, sticky blood splattered all over the room.
Fortunately, the blood was rapidly vaporizing and disappearing.
In less than a minute, there was no trace of the monster left in the living room.
Having finished the job, Akuto checked his phone. Seeing no other commissions, he was about to get up and leave when Yaeko excitedly said.
"Miss Akuto, could you stay for the night? I can... add another five hundred thousand."
Yaeko didn't dare let Akuto leave now. That kind of monster... how could such a thing exist!
What if it came back... or if there were other monsters... Yaeko shuddered.
Akuto thought about it; there were no more commissions.
He had nowhere to go anyway.
He might as well stay and earn another five hundred thousand.
He glanced at the TV on the living room wall, below which sat a PS4 and controllers.
Yaeko understood Akuto's look and immediately turned on the game console:
"I usually play games at home too, so please, make yourself at home."
As she spoke, Yaeko busied herself cutting fruit and preparing drinks for Akuto.
Meanwhile, Akuto sat lazily on the sofa with a cigarette in his mouth, holding a controller. Seeing Yaeko still standing nearby, he waved her off.
"Go on, don't just stand there being an eyesore."
"I'll leave tomorrow."
"Thank you for your help."
Yaeko thanked him sincerely.
It was fine for talented people to have a bit of a temper; Akuto's completely indifferent attitude actually made Yaeko feel very much at ease.
Didn't this prove that the evil spirit had been exorcised?
Returning to her room and lying down, hearing the sounds of the game from the living room, Yaeko closed her eyes with peace of mind.
On the other hand, Miko had a lot of complaints.
Akuto was using her body to stay up late, smoke, eat junk food, and drink high-sugar beverages.
These were all killers of a young girl's youth!
But clearly, she had no choice and could only lie down and sleep helplessly.
This was the best sleep Yaeko had had in two months—no dreams, no stray thoughts.
She fell asleep the moment she lay down.
It felt like no time had passed before the alarm went off.
She opened her eyes and saw that it was still dark outside.
This was Yaeko's habit; when she was starting her business, she needed to wake up before dawn, and later she gradually got used to rising early to give herself more time to wake up fully.
Rubbing her eyes as she walked out of the bedroom, Akuto also stood up.
"Miss Akuto, are you leaving? Do you need me to arrange a car for you?"
Akuto walked to the window and opened it.
"No need. You can find me if you have other commissions in the future, though the price might not be the same."
"Alright, then I..."
"Ah!"
Before Yaeko could finish, Akuto jumped out of the window.
Yaeko rushed to the window; this was the 16th floor!
However, there was no body of Akuto below.
Looking closely, Yaeko saw a dark shadow disappearing into the night at an extremely high speed.
"Are you kidding me... Is she a superman?"
