The arena was louder than it had been the entire tournament.
The finals.
At the center of the battlefield stood Satoru Gojo, hands in his pockets as always, completely relaxed despite the overwhelming pressure surrounding the arena.
Across from him stood Futago Kamo.
The announcer's voice boomed throughout the Zenin clan estate.
"After countless battles, after the winner's and loser's brackets have both reached their conclusions, we have finally arrived at the finals of the tournament between the three great clans!"
"On one side stands the undefeated prodigy of the Gojo clan! A monster blessed with both the Six Eyes and Limitless! Satoru Gojo!"
The crowd erupted instantly.
"And opposing him—!"
"The Kamo clan genius who clawed his way back from defeat in the loser's bracket!"
"A sorcerer possessing cursed energy reserves beyond comprehension!"
"A young man whose cursed technique remains almost entirely unknown!"
"Futago Kamo!"
Another wave of cheers spread throughout the arena.
Gojo glanced around lazily before looking directly at Futago.
"Hey Futa-chan, they seem a lot more interested in this fight than I thought they would be."
"You're surprised people are interested in watching the strongest fight?" I responded.
Gojo smirked slightly.
"I mean, they already saw a preview of what this fight is going to look like, why bother being so excited?"
The pressure in the arena shifted subtly.
Even the spectators seemed to quiet down slightly.
Gojo took one step forward.
"Just so there's no misunderstanding, let me set things straight. You're the challenger here."
"Cocky brat"
"Who are you calling a brat? You're almost half my age."
The air between us grew heavier.
From the stands, even experienced sorcerers could feel it now. The sheer density of cursed energy leaking from both sides caused the atmosphere itself to feel tense.
Suguru Geto narrowed his eyes.
"…This pressure is ridiculous."
Beside him, Shoko Ieiri remained quiet.
Gojo Satoru's Six Eyes focused entirely on me.
Gojo tilted his head slightly.
"You know, I've been wondering something."
"What?"
"How exactly are you planning to touch me?"
A few members of the crowd laughed nervously.
Infinity.
The untouchable wall between Satoru Gojo and the rest of the world.
Even now, memories of Naoya Zenin's failed assault remain fresh in everyone's mind.
I stared directly at him.
"…Who knows."
"Hah."
Gojo grinned.
For the first time since the match started, genuine excitement appeared on his face.
"That's better."
"Do you mind if I call you Satoru? Calling you Gojo seems improper, considering I have faced way too many Gojos up to this point."
"Sure," he responded nonchalantly.
The announcer quickly backed away from the center of the arena.
"T-The finals between Satoru Gojo and Futago Kamo will now begin!"
"Sorry about this Satoru."
I put my palms together and made a handsign immediately putting the cursed energy I gathered to use.
"Domain Expansion Rubik's Space dominion"
Immediately following my words a black barrier began to surround Satoru Gojo and myself blocking us from the view of the rest of the world.
After another second the barrier was fully set up, leaving a black sphere surrounding where we originally were.
"INCREDIBLE. We all knew Futago Kamo was hiding something but this! A domain expansion something that represents the peak of Jujutsu. What a shocker!" The announcer was genuinely astonished at this feat.
And who wouldn't be, in the modern era there isn't any confirmed sorcerer to have achieved domain.
Except for Kuroda, but he was killed a year ago.
[Author Note: Barely anyone knew about Yuki's abilities, and it's unconfirmed if she even achieved domain 1 year before Hidden Inventory. As for Kenjaku no one even knows about him]
"... Wait but with this barrier blocking the fight how will I narrate and discuss the fight." The announcer seemed to realize that the pinnacle of this tournament, the fight between the two would be forever hidden within that barrier.
_____
Meanwhile within the domain:
"So this domain is just a rubik's cube game" Satoru Gojo exclaimed while reading the rules that get printed, and displayed on a sign in the domain.
"Yes" I wonder why the rules of this domain are always displayed. Is this a binding vow that Kuroda made?
Maybe the rules being displayed is a vow that allows for the domain to work in general?
DOMAIN RULES – RUBIX SPACE DOMINION
The battlefield is a two-dimensional projection of a Rubik's Cube.
2. No phyXXXsical contact betXXXween the domain usXXXer, and target is allXXXowed. [Redacted Rule]
3. The target must navigate the floor to "solve" the cube by aligning all colors to solve the rubix cube correctly.
4. Each movement of the tiles counts as a move.
5. Every move that isn't the most optimal move towards solving the puzzle will enact a punishment.
6. Must make a move every 30 seconds, or a forced punishment will be put on you.
7. Punishment: loss of cursed energy equal to 3% of current reserves.
8. Five consecutive incorrect moves result in immediate 15% of cursed energy being stolen.
9. Failure to act within the allotted time window is treated as an incorrect move.
10. The Domain remains active until the puzzle is solved or the target has 5 consecutive incorrect moves. [Hidden Rule (As a result of a binding vow)]
30 seconds until punishment
'Still I managed to mess with the rule and manage to make it hidden'
Rule 10 states that the domain will close if the puzzle is solved or if there are 5 wrong moves in a row.
Anyone with a brain would realize that all they have to do to avoid this domain being lethal is getting 5 moves in a row wrong right away.
While they would lose 50% of their cursed energy (25% from rule 5, and the other 25% because they lose 5% per wrong move), they would guarantee that they wouldn't have to deal with the domain anymore, since I would enter burnout after the domain closes.
Moreover if the domain breaks I would lose the 70% output buff I get from sacrificing rule 2.
Against a mindless curse like Jason it didn't matter but Gojo is smart enough to realize it.
So I hid rule 10, now in his mind the domain won't close. To make this binding vow work, I sacrificed the power of the sure hit effect.
Instead of the domain taking 5% cursed energy for every punishment it only takes 3%.
"I'm glad, if this is your sure-hit then I really don't have to worry."
Satoru Gojo's voice echoed out, honestly he is right. The sure-hit isn't that impressive and it would take a while to completely drain him of his cursed energy.
"I'm gonna enjoy this, this will be fun" I muttered while rushing towards him, no point holding out anymore.
Flowing Red Scale + 70% output reinforcement.
The air around me warped as I rushed at Satoru Gojo attempting to get to his blind spot.
'All I have to do is make an empty barrier … like this!'
My fist crashed into Satoru … sadly it stopped before approaching him.
"... y'know I have infinity, so why would you try punching me" He asked, he seemed genuinely flabbergasted and astonished by my speed.
"Nothing, I was trying something" I muttered as he sent me flying back with blue. With my current output + Flowing Red Scale it didn't hurt much.
'I wanted to try domain amplification … I know the theory behind it, but damn it's way too hard.'
'I managed to do it a few times during training, but doing it in the heat of a battle is hard.'
Welp, time for phase 2 of the beat Gojo black & blue plan.
"Hey Satoru, are you curious about my cursed technique?" I asked while focusing my cursed energy.
Suddenly, a poisonous gas was emitted from my body.
"This … it's that one guy's technique, Haruka," Gojo responded. He seemed to be noticing what my plan was.
"... His name was Haruto, and yes this is his cursed technique, Dokugai, which allows him to generate a mist of poison." I made the revealing one's hand vow. Instead of telling him my own technique, I explained Haruto's, as for what I got from the vow well…
The flaw of Haruto's technique was its lack of spread/range. It was only in a small region around him, meaning you would have to be near him for it to work.
My binding vow was made to allow the poisonous mist to spread more.
Combined with the fact that I trapped Satoru Gojo in my domain meant he had nowhere to run.
"Are you beginning to realize it, you don't have any automatic filtering with infinity. Meaning that you can't filter the poison out of the air when you breathe. So you will be affected by it, making your movements sluggish and messing with your efficiency/output."
"Combined with this domain, I'd say things have gotten pretty lethal. Even if you have godlike efficiency, when you run out of fuel, it won't matter how efficient you are."
For the first time, I actually saw Satoru get quiet and start focusing.
"Still think you have a chance."
'You called me Futa-chan one too many times, Satoru Gojo. I am going to make sure you remember this as the day you were dominated by a kid half your age.'
The sure-hit effect + Haruto's Poison.
At this point, I could just run and hide for the rest of the match till he ran out of cursed energy.
'But that's how losers think … is what I would say if I were still a lobotomized JJK fan. I'm going to show him the Joestar secret technique.
Without hesitation, Satoru Gojo rushed at me and started unleashing a barrage of strikes at me. I ducked and weaved as much as I could while running away.
'I already know I can't actually damage him, so the only way to win is for him to run out of cursed energy.'
In the middle of that thought, Satoru Gojo teleported in front of me mid swing.
BAM
His fist made contact with my face and sent me across the domain.
I got up slowly and rubbed my nose. With all the amps I have right now, I'm slightly stronger than Gojo in durability. He's faster and has better striking strength, though.
___
'He's tough. Not just that, I can feel it, the poison weakened me. Even though I can limit the effect of the poison to stop festering. At this point, I'll be drained of my cursed energy before I can take him out.' Satoru Gojo thought.
'My blue-infused punches aren't doing enough damage to take him out. His absurd CE reserves and output give him enough durability to tank my hits.'
'Still, I learned one thing. His cursed technique lets him use drilling projectiles, this odd domain expansion, and Haruto's poison technique. It's clear he has some kind of copy ability.'
Still, even if I know that, it doesn't answer the question.
'How do I take down this beast?'
