Welcome dearies to another chapter

Alex sat by the small stream near their small hideout, splashing cold water onto his face.
He touched his cheek and it felt like skin, It was warm, slightly oily, and had the various microscopic texture of pores.
He pinched it, It stretched.
"It's perfect," Alex whispered, his lips then moving in perfect sync with the mask's synthetic muscles, to the world, this was his face, if he bled, the mask would simulate bruising and even if he sweated, the mask released moisture, it was the ultimate camouflage,"But camouflage doesn't save you from being an idiot," Alex muttered.
He stood up and walked back to the hole he had dug the previous evening.
He kicked the dirt aside and pulled out the Pokéball containing the Feebas, "Why did I bury this?" he asked himself, wiping the dirt off the red-and-white metal.
"I have a literal pocket dimension in my head, What a moron i am ."
Paranoia made people do stupid things and he had been so afraid of a physical search that he had forgotten his greatest asset, his secret weapon 🔪.
He focused his mind and the Inventory then opened a silent, grey void in his consciousness,Store...
The Pokéball vanished from his hand as It didn't exist in the physical world anymore, no scanner could detect it and no thief could snatch it anymore, Feebas was suspended in stasis inside a ball, inside a void, ironic.
It was the safest place in the universe.
"Safe," Alex exhaled, the he turned to his Nidoran, the purple rabbit was sharpening its claws on a tree root.
It looked stronger.
The protein from the ration blocks and the constant movement were building muscle mass and the bruise on its leg had faded to a dull yellow, thanks to the Oran Salve.
"Ready?" Alex asked.
Nidoran stopped scratching and looked up, its eyes burning with a restless energy.
The Hustle ability was itching under its skin. It wanted to hit something.
"Today we don't just hunt," Alex said, pulling his knife, "Today we learn how to aim."
The target was a Spearow which they had found three kilometers east, near a rocky outcrop where the jungle canopy thinned out, Spearows were different from Pidgeys as Pidgeys were docile; they ran away. Spearows were absolute assholes, they held grudges and they attacked things bigger than themselves just for looking at them funny, what a bunch of bitches.
[ Pokémon: Spearow ]
[ Level: 7 ]
[ Aptitude: Green (Solid) ]
[ Status: Aggressive ]
"Level 7," Alex whispered from the cover of a fern.
"It's has advantages against you and most importantly it flies, so it is a bad matchup."
The Nidoran growled low,I don't care.
"I know you don't," Alex murmured.
"But listen, You can't just charge it,kk ,If you miss, it pecks your eyes out so you have to wait."
He pointed his knife at the bird, which was preening its rough, red wings on a low branch,"We need to unlock that move," Alex said. "Sucker Punch, Do you know what it means?"
The Nidoran tilted its head,"It means hitting them before they hit you," Alex explained.
"It's a Dark-type move, It's dirty and It relies on reading their intent, When you see it wind up for an attack, that's when you strike, not after but during the attack."
Alex picked up a stone and threw it, stone hit the branch next to the Spearow.
The bird screeched, its head snapping around. It saw the Nidoran standing in the open.
"SCREEEE!"
The Spearow didn't hesitate as it launched itself from the branch, wings tucking in for an Aerial Ace or maybe just a high-speed Peck.
It was a missile of feathers and hate.
"Wait," Alex commanded, his voice steady despite he himself being nervous, Nidoran dug its claws into the dirt and its muscles bunched up, the purple energy of Hustle crackled around it, making it vibrate.
It wanted to jump.
"Wait..." Alex hissed.
The Spearow was ten meters away, Five meters,Three, and It opened its beak.
The intention to kill was palpable.
"NOW!"
Nidoran didn't just dodge, it surged forward into the attack and it didn't use the horn.
It used a burst of sudden, dark energy that coated its body like a shadow, it moved faster than its physical limits should have allowed...a priority move.
WHAM....
Nidoran slammed into the Spearow's chest mid air and the impact was sickening as the Spearow's momentum was used against it. Dark energy flared, cutting through the bird's defenses and the Spearow was knocked out of the air, tumbling into the dirt, It is now shrieking , trying to get up, one wing flapped in an odd angle.
"Finish it! Poison Sting!"
Nidoran didn't miss this time, It was point blank, It unleashed a volley of glowing white needles from its back.
Thud-thud-thud.....
The needles pierced the Spearow, the bird convulsed once, then went still.
[ Enemy Defeated. ]
[ XP Gained (Significant). ]
[ Proficiency Unlocked: Sucker Punch (Beginner) ]
"Yes!" Alex clenched his fist.
Nidoran stood over the kill, panting heavily.
Dark smoke wisped from its fur, fading slowly, it looked surprised by its own speed.
"That," Alex said, walking over, "is how you deal with Hustle,You don't aim with your eyes but with their anger."
He knelt down to harvest the loot.
[ Item: Sharp Beak ]
[ Value: Medium ]
He used his knife to carve out the beak, It was grisly work, but he was getting used to all this, the dissociation helped, It's just biology, he told himself, Just anatomy.
He bagged the beak and stored it in the Inventory.
"Level check," Alex said.
[ Nidoran ]
[ Level: 6 -> 7 ]
"Still 7?" Alex frowned.
"That was a high level kill,the XP curve is steep.", this was the reality of the world.
In the games, you killed three bugs and be leveled up fast but here growth was slow and painful as It took weeks to reach Levels.
"We need more," Alex said and for the rest of the day, they became a scourge of the underbrush.
They avoided the river because it has too many Croconaws and also the deep caves due to the presence of Zubat swarms, they simply stuck to the rocky edges.
They killed two more Rattatas and fought a Geodude, which was a disaster, Physically resistant. Nidoran nearly broke its horn pecking a rock so they had to run.
They ambushed a Caterpie, (which was an Easy XP, felt bad, but did it anyway).
By sunset, Alex was exhausted and his salve was wearing off, and the ache in his injured ribs was returning with a vengeance.
He sat on a log, watching the Nidoran lap water from a puddle, "You're getting faster buddy ," Alex noted.
The Nidoran looked up, its eyes were now sharper, the runt appearance was still there, it was smaller than average but the muscle density was undeniable, it was like a compressed spring.
Ding
The interface flickered.
[ Nidoran]
[ Level: 7 -> 8 ]
"Finally," Alex sighed. "Level 8.", Level 8, Nidoran learned Double Kick in the game. Here?
[ New Move Unlocked: Double Kick (Fighting) ]
[ Proficiency: Low ]
"Fighting type coverage," Alex grinned. "Now we can hurt Rock types, that Geodude is dead next time we see him."
He checked his own status.
[ Trainer: Ares ]

* Knife
* Mask
* Pokéball (Feebas)
* Rattata Tails (x3)
* Sharp Beak (x1)
* Oddish Leaves (x2)
* Empty Jars (0) - Need to find more.
He was slowly accumulating some wealth.
The Sharp Beak alone could probably fetch 50 points from a Flying-type specialist at the Outpost, but as he sat there, the memories of the pharmacy studies surfaced again.
"Chemicals," Alex murmured.
"I need more than just salves."
He looked at the Nidoran's Poison Point ability and then looked at the poisonous mushrooms growing on the log.
"Paralysis is good," he thought.
"But Sleep... Sleep is better."
If he could make Sleep Powder or a liquid equivalent , he wouldn't have to fight fair ever again, he could simply knock out wild Pokémon and slit their throats, or capture them without a struggle.
He stood up, his legs protesting,"New objective," Alex told Nidoran.
"We need to find a Butterfree or an Oddish that knows Sleep Powder and we need those spores."
The Nidoran groaned, It hated the powder Pokémon as they tasted like chalk.
"Stop complaining," Alex said, patting his leg where the inventory void felt heaviest. "We have a princess in a ball to feed and she only eats the best."
He looked toward the darkening sky, the stars were coming out,they looked the same as they did in his old world, but various constellations were different.
"It's been a while ," Alex whispered. "Still alive though."
He adjusted his mask, ensuring the seal was tight against his neck.
"Let's go home, Nidoran.", Nidoran paused and looked at Alex.
It gave a short, sharp nod and took point, leading the way back to the safety of the crevice.
