Hello DEARIES..... welcome to another chapter....

Enjoy....

Alex shifted his weight on Nidorino's back, grimacing as his inner thighs burned.

They had been riding for nearly nine hours straight, Nidorino was an engine of muscle and stamina.

The Black Sludge collar around its neck pulsed steadily, feeding it a trickle of regenerative energy that scrubbed away the fatigue build up, but Alex didn't have a magical sludge collar.

He was just a human holding onto thick, coarse fur, trying not to get impaled by the toxic spines bristling along his mount's spine.

"Slow down, buddy " Alex murmured, patting Nidorino's flank.

The beast slowed from a gallop to a heavy trot, its claws sinking deep into the loam.

Alex scanned the area. They were miles past the Fence, the landscape here was ancient.

The trees were redwoods, towering hundreds of feet into the air and the roots were the size of houses.

The inhabitants were...especially wrong.

"That's not Kanto," Alex whispered, pulling on the Nidorino's fur to halt him completely.

Through a break in the trees, about two hundred meters away, a massive, armored figure was tearing bark off a tree, It looked like a dinosaur made of grey iron.

[ Pokémon: Aggron ]

[ Level: 64 ]

[ Aptitude: Blue ]

[ Region Origin: Hoenn ]

[ Threat: Catastrophic ]

Alex stopped breathing..... Fuck.

Level 64

That was simply Elite Four caliber.

"No wonder Rocket stopped at the fence," Alex realized, a cold sweat occuring on his face. "Their Executives are probably sitting at Level 50 or 60 and If they march an army in here, they don't conquer it, they would just get eaten, as this one might not be the only one with this high level."

This wasn't just a forest, It was a chaotic convergence of regions.

He had seen a Yanmega from Sinnoh buzzing in the treetops earlier also he had spotted the tail of a Ursaring which was usually seen in johto.

"We are ants here," Alex told Nidorino. "We don't fight anything big buddy, We survive and we scavenge whatever we get."

He steered his Nidorino away from the Aggron, moving silently toward the coast.

They stopped to rest near a rocky outcrop overlooking the ocean. The air here was salty, but mixed with a strange, stagnant fog that clung to the water.

Alex slid off Nidorino's back, his legs nearly buckling. He sat on a rock, drinking water, while the Nidorino chewed on a patch of bitter moss.

"Let's go, Nidorino, We have a some partners to find."

The coastline wasn't like the sandy beaches of the Rocket base, It was jagged, rocky, and treacherous. The waves crashed against black cliffs, sending sprays of foam into the air and there was fog, Thick, unnatural fog that didn't move with the wind.

Alex navigated carefully down a goat path to a secluded cove.

There, wedged between two massive pillars of rock, lay the carcass of a ship. It wasn't a modern steel vessel. It looked like an old wooden schooner, maybe fifty years old, rotted and broken. Its mast was snapped, pointing like a accusing finger at the grey sky. Barnacles covered its hull, and seaweed hung from its railings like drowned hair.

"Jackpot," Alex whispered.

In the fanfics and the stories, treasures can be found in wrecked ships, hope there will be no human ghosts in this world.

"Stay close," Alex commanded Nidorino.

Nidorino growled uneasily, It didn't like the smell of the ship as It smelled like cold dust and decayed bodies.

They waded through the shallow tide pool to the breach in the hull.

The inside of the ship was dark, rotting crates were stacked haphazardly. The floorboards creaked wetly under Alex's boots.

The temperature dropped ten degrees instantly. Alex's breath misted in the air...

He knew something was there....

"Show yourself," Alex said softly.

He scanned the shadows.

Nothing.....

He moved deeper, toward the captain's quarters at the stern. The wood here was darker, stained with something that might have been oil or old blood.

He saw a glint of gold in the corner.

He approached, It was a small chest, half-rotted and Inside, amidst the sludge, were a few items that hadn't decayed.

* Silver Powder: (Bug type enhancer)

* Pearl String: (Valuable)

* Black Glasses: (Dark move enhancer)

"Loot, finally...." Alex whispered, reaching for the glasses.

Hiss....

The shadow behind the chest moved, it didn't detach from the wall, It simply peeled off.

A small, floating figure materialized. It wore a tattered grey shroud that looked like a grim reaper's cloak. Its face was a stylized white skull mask. Inside the eye socket, a single, burning red orb drifted back and forth.

[ Pokémon: Duskull ]

[ Level: 14 ]

[ Aptitude: Green (Deep) ]

[ Ability: Levitate ]

[ Nature: Relaxed (+Def, -Spd) ]

"Duskull," Alex breathed, It was exactly what he wanted...as secret weapon and especially a ghost type, he would have loved to have a Gengar but the Dusknoir line were even better....Tanky, Defensive and capable of merging with shadows, he had seen Dusknoirs power in the sinnoh seasons and they looked extremely powerful .

Duskull stared at him, It didn't attack....It floated there, oscillating with a hypnotic rhythm.

"Nidorino," Alex said calmly. "Don't touch it. It maynot have cursed body but contact might burn you if it knows Will O Wisp."

Duskull raised a spectral hand and a small orb of blue fire appeared.

Will-O-Wisp

"Dodge!"

Nidorino scrambled to the left, slipping on the wet wood.

The fireball hit a crate, instantly igniting the rot with a cold, blue flame.

"It burns," Alex noted. "If that hits, your Attack stat gets cut in half and we can't let that happen."

"Nidorino! Focus Energy!"

The Nidorino roared, pumping itself up.

Duskull vanished, It didn't fly away. It turned invisible.

Shadow Sneak? Or just natural ghost physiology?

"Watch your six!" Alex yelled, spinning around.

The red eye appeared directly behind Nidorino.

"Behind you! Sucker Punch Now!!!!!"

Nidorino spun and It didn't have time to aim. It just lashed out with a wave of Dark energy.

The Sucker Punch connected.

The Duskull was blasted backward, phasing through a wooden beam and slamming into the far wall. It let out a hollow, rattling cry.

It was hurt but Duskulls were naturally bulky. It shook off the hit and raised both hands. The air grew heavy and the Shadows began to swirl around Nidorino..Night Shade which will cause fixed damage based on level.

"It's going to chip you down," Alex realized. "We can't trade hits buddy, we need to end this now."

"Nidorino! Poison Sting! Barrage!"

Nidorino unleashed a volley of white needles.

Duskull phased out, dodging half of them, but two stuck in its shroud.

Effect: Poisoned

Duskull shivered and Purple bubbles appeared around its cowl.

"It's on a timer, buddy " Alex grinned. "Poison wears it down, We just need to survive the time."

Duskull glared at Alex, It realized the human was the tactician so It floated toward him, ignoring the Nidorino.

"Me?" Alex stood his ground.

He pulled his knife, though he knew it was useless. "Come on then."

He was a bait now. Duskull lunged, preparing another Night Shade.

"Now, Nidorino! Sucker Punch full power!!!"

Nidorino capitalized on the distraction. It leaped over a pile of debris, crossing the cabin in a single bound. The dark aura flared again.

CRACK...

It hit Duskull from the side, driving it into the floorboards.

The Ghost Pokémon flickered, its red eye dimming, the poison tick damaged it again. It slumped, floating barely an inch off the ground.

Alex pulled the empty Pokeball from his belt.

"Welcome to the team partner ," Alex whispered.

He threw the ball.....

It hit the skull mask with a metallic clink. Duskull dissolved into red energy.

Wobble...

Wobble....

Wobble.... .... .....

Click..

The ball went still.

[ Pokémon Captured: Duskull ]

Alex let out a long breath, the cold in the room seemed to lift instantly.

He walked over and picked up the ball, It felt freezing cold to the touch.

"Hahahahahah," Alex started laughing maniacally, pocketing it.

He turned to the loot chest and grabbed the Black Glasses.

"Here," he said, tossing them to Nidorino. "It's a Dark move enhancer, It looks stupid on a rabbit monster, but it boosts your Sucker Punch, so apperance doesn't matter."

He pocketed the Silver Powder and the Pearl String.

"We're rich, buddy " Alex said, looking around the rotting cabin "And we have a freaking 👻."

"One ball left," Alex said, patting his pocket. "Hope whoever you are , will entirely be on a another league, we will be waiting ."

He walked out of the ship, leaving the ghosts of the past behind as he had his own ghosts now.
