Chapter 86 - Chapter 86 Fight hard!

Shawn watched the drooling Walking Corpse Centipede, its body serving as a stepping stone, attempting to lunge and bite his face.

A tingling sensation shot from his tailbone straight to the top of his head.

Everything in front of Shawn seemed to become clearer; his hands, tightly gripping the metal frame, began to tremble subtly, and several drops of sweat slid down his forehead, splattering heavily on the ground.

This was adrenaline at work; Shawn was all too familiar with this situation, as it wasn't the first time it had occurred.

"My body is buying me time, do you think I'd be afraid of you?!"

Shawn suddenly pulled, yanking down the metal frame above his head.

He stepped on the topmost segment of the Walking Corpse Centipede's body, ensuring he wouldn't fall.

He gripped the metal frame with both hands and immediately shoved it against the 'centipede head's' face.

They all began to emit low growls simultaneously, overlapping, almost resembling the chirping of some insect similar to a centipede.

However, due to the metal frame, they couldn't bite into Shawn's flesh.

They were frantic, extremely frantic…

Suddenly, they all let out a unified low growl.

The Walkers bearing the weight below bent at unnatural angles, even the one supporting Shawn at the very top began to arch its body backward.

"This is!"

Upon seeing this familiar posture, Shawn was not annoyed; instead, his eyes lit up.

He immediately turned his body, gripping the metal frame with both hands in reverse, and pressing the soles of his feet onto the flat surface of the metal frame.

As soon as Shawn got into position, a powerful catapulting force immediately came from beneath his feet.

The Walking Corpse Centipede had finished charging; they broke apart in the middle, the upper part lifting Shawn, pushing him forcefully outward.

Takeoff—!

Shawn was directly propelled by this force; the world before his eyes expanded rapidly as he flew, and in less than three seconds, he saw the end of the horde.

As the last of the force dissipated, Shawn landed with a 'thud' behind the horde.

The surroundings suddenly became quiet.

Shawn tried to raise his head, only to see the Walkers in the horde before him one by one turning their heads to look at him.

Shawn forced a smile.

"Hey guys, eaten yet?"

"If not, you should hurry back and eat more!"

Shawn scrambled up from the ground and sprinted away in a flash.

Behind him, the horde surged, instantly changing direction and following closely.

"Stop looking, damn it, hurry back to Section C! If you can't get out, hide in the guard room!!"

Shawn returned the way he came, and from a distance, he saw Shawn peeking out, yelling with a wry smile.

Shawn heard him and ran towards Section C without looking back.

Shawn turned left at the fork and ran deeper into Section B, leading away the vast majority of the Walkers.

However, even so, a small group still followed in the direction Shawn had gone.

"Never mind, our lives are in fate's hands."

Shawn ran, looking at the large wave of Walkers following him, thinking that he had done his best.

Given Shawn's courage, and with two others assisting him in the guard room, he should be able to survive without a problem.

What Shawn should be worrying about now was himself!

He made a sharp turn, and ahead was a long corridor in Section B.

The Walkers behind him couldn't stop, crashing against the walls like a tide, and the Walkers that came after them directly stepped on their bodies, attacking one after another!

Shawn's breathing began to quicken.

He didn't need to look back to imagine the scene of the horde surging behind him.

"This won't do; I can't keep running around with these Walkers. I need to find a way!"

Shawn's throat was already dry, and even with the support of adrenaline, he still felt utterly exhausted.

After running through the entire Section B Prison, Shawn's legs felt like they were filled with lead, and he began to slow down.

The Walking Corpse Centipede, close behind, opened its gaping maw, seeming as if it could reach Shawn's head in the next second.

The trial of life and death not only did not end but intensified.

Shawn forced himself to rally, gritting his teeth and picking up speed again.

Under the influence of adrenaline, he even felt at this moment that his limbs were barely his own.

"Did I eat your family's rice, that you're chasing me like this?!"

Reaching the connecting passage between Section B and Section A, Shawn cursed without looking back.

But then, looking at the faintly swaying group of dark figures directly ahead in the connecting passage, Shawn felt a sense of despair.

Those were all prisoners originally from Section A.

Like Section B, they had broken out of their cells during the infection and were now all blocking the Prison corridor.

Their originally dazed expressions vanished the moment Shawn rushed in.

Almost simultaneously, they all raised their heads, their pale, murky eyes fixed on Shawn.

Flying sweat, flushed and steaming skin, tough and chewy muscles…

In their eyes, Shawn was like the existence of Tang Monk's flesh.

Never mind if they had a chance to take a bite, even if it was just a twist, a lick, or a soak, their Walker lives would be without regret.

They moved with stumbling steps, their movements growing faster, their bodies swaying more and more, and the gradually denser low growls seemed to echo the group of Walkers following Shawn from behind.

Shawn stopped in the passage between the two waves of Walkers.

Sweat drenched his entire body, and he felt a sticky discomfort.

But at this moment, Shawn had no mind to pay attention to these… The adrenaline rush was already starting to fade.

What surged in its place was a wave of powerlessness from the deepest part of his body.

Shawn's stamina couldn't keep up.

He was caught in the middle.

Like a melted, soft piece of cheese, sandwiched between two slices of Walker toast.

Behind him, there were at least a hundred Walkers, including over a dozen special variants.

And in front of him, at a glance, there were even more than a hundred, a vast, endless horde!

Shawn vaguely recalled the map; it seemed that the sizes of Section C, Section B, and Section A were in increasing order.

Among the three sections, Section A was the largest area, and naturally, it held the most prisoners.

"What to do… what to do…"

Shawn unconsciously repeated the words, though in reality, he had already guessed his fate.

In front of such a massive horde of Walkers, one person's strength was always too insignificant.

If Shawn could fully master a certain stat allocation sequence, there might still be a glimmer of hope.

If he could max out his skills, these Walkers would all just be experience points in front of him.

But now Shawn had nothing.

Only one max-level basic strength he could show off.

But facing a massive horde of at least 300 Walkers, with many special individuals among them, was max-level basic strength truly enough?

Shawn raised his right hand and wiped his face from top to bottom.

Wiping away the sweat, Shawn took a deep breath, his eyes slightly red.

The Stone Hammer appeared in his hand, and he stood sideways.

Dark blood seemed to be constantly dripping from the iron thorns wrapped around the great hammer.

At this moment, he was calm.

A stark contrast to the insane, beast-like legions of Walkers rushing from both sides!

"From the first day I arrived in this apocalypse, I dared not claim unmatched bravery, but at least I never gave up."

"So far, I've personally slaughtered at least hundreds of Walkers."

"Who would have thought that all I initially wanted was to open a butcher shop?"

Shawn slowly raised his head, closed his eyes, and savored his final moments.

The growls of the Walkers grew closer in his ears; low growls and heavy thuds combined, forming a less-than-pleasant melody.

He slowly opened his eyes, only determination left in them.

His chest rose and fell, his breathing quickening as the Walkers approached.

He lightly shook the great hammer, shaking off all the blood, scattering it across the ground.

His brows were furrowed, and anger seemed to burn in his pupils.

"Come!!"

"All of you, come!!!"
