Chapter 145 - Chapter 145 A Deeper Desire

"A thousand years of glory!"

The common room door slowly opened, and Harry, Garrd, and the rest of the Quidditch team entered, finding an empty spot to continue discussing Quidditch.

"To be honest, I always feel like it's not enough. Gryffindor's Wood is a formidable opponent," Garrd said, somewhat worried.

Pucey waved his hand, "Don't worry, we've trained so hard, and we still have Potter and the Shooting Star."

"It's hard to say. I heard Weasley say that Wood often drags them out of bed for training before dawn. And he does it so often, they might have already practiced some unique tactics," Harry said with a laugh.

"Tactics... sigh, it's tough..." Garrd shook his head, glancing at Flint. He was currently huddled in a circle with a few students from the same year, having somehow gotten a bottle of whiskey and some snacks from the kitchen, continuing their party.

"That guy, he hasn't participated in training even once!!" MacChlery said, annoyed, standing up abruptly.

He had always been quite strict and volatile when it came to Quidditch, which was evident during the tryouts for Harry and Draco.

"Hey, Michael, don't do anything foolish!!" Garrd grabbed his robe and pulled him back.

"It's Halloween today, don't do anything that makes people unhappy," he said again, showing off his Prefect badge on his chest.

"Tsk!"

MacChlery sat back down on the sofa, still annoyed.

"I think we can find some inspiration for tactics from basketball and football," Harry changed the subject.

"Basketball? Football? What are those?" Garrd asked, a bit confused.

Harry then explained basketball and football to them, both multi-player ball sports. Perhaps they could provide some inspiration for Quidditch.

"So, if I understand correctly... it's Quidditch played on the ground, without Bludgers or the Golden Snitch?"

Harry nodded; that was a fair way to put it.

The others exchanged glances. Pucey felt it was a bit unreliable; focusing only on the Quaffle and having only one goal, and being a ground-based sport, there wasn't much to learn from.

They might as well continue to train their individual skills rather than worrying about multi-person tactics.

Garrd looked at Harry, "Is basketball played with five people?"

Harry nodded.

Upon confirmation, Garrd looked thoughtful. Excluding Flint and the free player Harry, they now had five active players who could participate in training and coordinate in actual combat.

And more importantly, some of the ideas within it.

He had, on one occasion, encountered some Muggle things. He knew that Muggles, apart from not having magic, were not so different from them; on the contrary, sometimes they... were quite knowledgeable.

"I think we can give it a try. At least, let's find some information first before making a decision. It's not too late," he suggested.

MacChlery exhaled, saying bluntly, "I don't care, as long as it's useful."

Just as he was speaking, the common room door opened again, and Draco rushed in excitedly.

He quickly walked over, his face full of excitement, "Something happened! Something happened!!"
