The night sky was decorated with stars, Tokyo's skyline lit with beautiful lights as another day reached its end.
Jujutsu High.
Bang.
Klang. Klang. Klang.
A can rolled across the ground, its body deformed as if struck by something violent.
"It's been an hour since you started doing that," Fushiguro Megumi commented flatly. He walked out of the building and sat on the wooden edge beside Haruto, boredom clear in his voice.
"Well, it's fun, you know… messing around with supernatural powers," Haruto replied. Once again, he formed a finger-gun and projected cursed energy outward, blasting another can away from nearly a hundred meters.
Correction. It was ninety-three meters.
"As someone with shadow powers, you agree with this, right? It's pretty fun to play around."
"Cursed Techniques aren't meant for fun," Fushiguro replied, as plain as ever.
"Did anyone ever tell you how boring you are, Fushiguro?" Haruto muttered, firing off another blast. This time, he succeeded in irritating Megumi, though the latter didn't respond.
"…"
Megumi looked at the ground—once clear, now littered with crushed cans.
"Where did you even get this many cans?"
"I asked Kiyotaka-san to arrange them, so who knows."
Kiyotaka Ijichi, assistant manager at Jujutsu High. Haruto had been told by Gojo to ask him for help whenever he needed anything.
"So where are Itadori and Nobara?"
"Out. Gojo said to order whatever they want. The bill's on him, so yeah—they went wild."
"Fuck yeah!" Haruto cheered as the last ten cans flew away simultaneously.
'That's amazing…'
Megumi frowned as he watched the cans roll away.
'Ten cursed energy expulsions at once, all accurately shot from nearly a hundred meters…'
The level of control Haruto had just demonstrated was astonishing.
'Hard to believe he learned all that by himself… and in what? A day?'
Haruto's learning speed far surpassed anything Megumi could imagine. Unlike Megumi, who had grown up surrounded by curses and sorcerers, Haruto was completely new to this world.
'No… he's new to this entire world,' Megumi thought, recalling how Haruto had forgotten everything prior to what happened a week ago.
In just one day, Haruto had demonstrated abilities that shocked even Megumi—a Grade 2 sorcerer himself, known as a genius with potential comparable to Gojo Satoru.
Getting praised by Gojo Satoru for his cursed energy control.
The Six Eyes user—the strongest sorcerer alive and the pinnacle of cursed energy manipulation—and in a single day, Haruto had reached a level Megumi hadn't even glimpsed.
"Your Cursed Technique… it's really strong," Megumi said, finally acknowledging its potential.
"Oh, my—thank you. But you know, your technique is nothing less impressive than mine," Haruto replied, scratching the back of his head. "I've heard about your Ten Shadows."
"Controlling shadows, storing items, hiding within them… not to mention the shikigami," Haruto listed, counting each application on his fingers. "Damn. That's one hell of a technique."
"…Can I see it?" Haruto asked after a moment.
With eager eyes, Haruto nodded, and Megumi reluctantly complied, summoning the two large dogs—much to Haruto's absolute delight.
"Good boys."
Haruto ruffled their heads as he played with the shadow shikigami, admiring the loyal Divine Dogs.
'Ten Shadows…'
If someone asked Haruto about his favorite technique in the entire series, the answer was obvious.
Ten Shadows.
Sure, Shrine and Infinity were amazing—but when used to its full potential, like Sukuna did after taking over Megumi's body?
Nothing beat this technique.
A sorcerer had their own shadow skillset, plus shikigami acting as extra hands in battle.
Nue and Max Elephant possessed elemental abilities, while Round Deer wielded Reverse Cursed Energy.
And then there was Big Raga.
Haruto shivered at the thought of Mahoraga—and the terrifying possibility of wielding its adaptive power.
'Sage… can you analyze Ten Shadows?'
Negative.
'What? How? I mean—what the fuck do you mean? The original Great Sage could analyze anything.'
Received.
The Great Sage in the fiction you are referencing possessed similar functions to me, but its analytical capabilities were the combined effect of Great Sage and the skill Predator.
'What?'
The skill Predator possessed the following:
Mimicry: Reproduces the form and skills of absorbed targets.
Only available once the target has been analyzed.
Analysis: Analyzes and researches targets taken into your body.
Allows the creation of craftable items. If required materials are present, permits replication.
Successful analysis of a casting method allows the acquisition of the target's skills and magic.
When Great Sage was linked with Predator, the majority of its functions—creation, skill acquisition, and advanced analysis—became possible.
{A/N: Don't you dare call it a nerf. These are the exact words from the novel and their exact functions. And yeah—don't jump to conclusions. Read ahead and wait.}
'Oh, fucking hell…'
Haruto's hands stopped ruffling the Divine Dog's fur as his expression fell. The shikigami tilted their heads, then began licking his face, trying to cheer him up.
'So there goes my dream of copying other techniques…'
Haruto sighed internally.
'Infinity. Cleave. Mahoraga…'
'Is there no other way?'
Received.
There is another viable method to learn techniques as you desire.
'There is?'
Received.
Yes. If you are able to read the flow of cursed energy during its usage, Great Sage can analyze the underlying concepts and imitate the technique.
Haruto straightened immediately.
The ability to perceive cursed energy was something every sorcerer possessed.
But the ability to read the *flow* of cursed energy was something entirely different.
Flow referred to the movement of cursed energy at its most fundamental level—down to the atomic scale—how it moved, interacted, and reacted.
It was extraordinarily complex. Humanly impossible to achieve through simple training.
With All of Creation active, Haruto's mind flooded with information, making him fully grasp how absurd Great Sage's requirement truly was.
'To read the flow of cursed energy… wait. Isn't that the Six Eyes?'
The Six Eyes were an innate gift rarely inherited within the Gojo clan. A nonstandard jujutsu trait, manifesting as a pair of brilliant blue eyes that granted extraordinary perception. This included seeing the flow of cursed energy in extreme detail and reading cursed techniques through it. The eyes also allowed ultra-precise cursed energy control—essential for fully utilizing the Limitless technique.
It wasn't wrong to say that everything Gojo Satoru was… was thanks to this gift.
"We're back! Guess what's for dinner tonight!"
Yuji's loud voice echoed as he returned with Nobara.
"Dispel."
Megumi dismissed the shikigami and headed inside, leaving Haruto alone.
'How the hell am I supposed to get Six Eyes now?'
Haruto looked at the can-covered garden, then up at the dark sky.
Received.
You do not need Six Eyes specifically to read the flow of energy.
