"Nina, I can dispatch Dio and his crew to scout around," Sal suggested. "They should be able to dig up some inside information. Since they used to be rogue beasts themselves, the enemy won't be as guarded around them."
"Mm, have them look into it," Nina agreed.
"As for activating the guardian array, Father will look for an opportunity over the next two days," Ming said. "Tomorrow, let's go inspect the defensive formations guarding the sacred artifact."
"Alright. Thank you for your hard work, Father," Nina said.
The following day, Ming took Nina to see the defensive formations enclosing the sacred artifact.
He led them to the edge of a dense, sprawling forest. "Nina, the very center of this woodland is where our sacred artifact is kept. The forest itself isn't massive, but reaching its core is incredibly difficult."
Nina scanned the woods. The trees grew thick and lush, yet there was very little variety in the vegetation; every single plant looked remarkably identical.
