Antarctica. Scott Mountains. Monarch Outpost 32.
In the icy hellscape that is Antarctica, it was a rather normal day. If the freezing whiteout happening across the area could be considered normal.
However, inside the facility operated by Monarch, now under the strict eye of the UN and the near bottomless budget of the PPDC, it was a completely different story.
Alarms blared across the facility as men and women wearing Monarch uniforms and lab coats ran around like headless chickens, trying to follow the instructions of the soldiers who were attempting to guide these eggheads who only knew how to hole up in their labs all day long.
"Move! Move! Evacuate to Extraction Site Delta!"
The leader of the soldiers roared out at the group of scientists and engineers who ran in the direction he indicated.
Then, he turned to the other side and shouted out his question to one of his subordinates, attempting to make his voice known over the loud noise of the Klaxons.
"How are things looking at Extraction point Alpha through Gamma?"
"Almost done! There are only a few stragglers left in the facility who are being rounded up by our guys!"
"Good! Once they evacuate, I want all of our guys brought out of this accursed place as well!"
His subordinate hesitated before asking the question that had been on his mind for a bit now.
"Sir? Why are we abandoning the base as well? Shouldn't we be going down there to take care of the intruders instead of running away?"
The leader shrugged with a frustrated expression.
"I don't know either. I got these orders straight from the UN Security Council and one of Monarch's council members. We ain't got no choice but to follow orders."
"...Yes, Sir."
Soon enough, the last of the evacuation crafts left the Outpost, carrying within them the last of the soldiers and personnel.
And left behind was one of the oldest Monarch Outposts in existence, hiding a secret that not many people knew about, even to this day, and the infiltrators who, strangely enough, hadn't fired a single shot from the moment they barged into the facility as if they owned the place and threatened to kill all of them if they didn't follow their orders.

Deep within the bowels of Outpost 32, a large group of armed men, some dressed in crimson and others dressed in blue, stared at each other strangely while their two leaders stared at the colossal ice shelf in front of them, which had all manner of catwalks installed on it.
One of the leaders, dressed in a gaudy crimson uniform with a stylized M on it, put away his phone and turned to his companion for today's mission.
"It is done. All personnel have been evacuated from the Outpost, down to the last janitor. We are free to begin."
His companion, the one wearing an equally gaudy blue robe with a stylized A, shaped like a skull, nodded.
"Good. Let's begin. We need to do this before the Hoenn Council, or the Sky King's tribe learns about what happened and sends in their 'Dragons'. By the Three, we can't afford to cross that group of monsters right now."
The leader of Magma Industries' group nodded at his companion's words, knowing that he was right.
Even back then, when the soldiers and members of Magma Industries and Aqua Logistics were not splintered as they are right now, they never dared to cross the Hoenn Outer Tribe's Special Forces that were officially named 'The Dragons'. These people, who were the best psychics that Hoenn had to offer, were then trained into becoming the greatest soldiers on the planet through a deadly training regimen that was refined and honed throughout the centuries that Hoenn had existed.
On some level, the Dragons of Hoenn were similar to the SEAL teams of the USA, the SAS of the United Kingdom, and so many others. But the difference was that the Dragons are literally superhuman thanks to selective breeding carried out throughout the centuries, something that started as a need to protect the lands of Hoenn and then developed into its own tradition. A tradition that is seen as the greatest honor for any family that worships the three gods of Hoenn, which is basically all of them.
At the mere mention of this group of elites, the soldiers of the two groups behind their leaders shuddered in terror, knowing what the wrath of the Dragons looked like since a lot of them were Hoennese to begin with.
Without hesitation, they immediately got to work, drilling holes into the ice shelf, just enough to reach the monster trapped behind the ice and expose its hide to the humans.
In total, the group dug thirty holes, exposing the beast to the air for the first time in thousands of years.
"Alright. Let's move on to phase 2."
The leader of Aqua's group looked at his fellow leader and could not help but ask the question that had been on his mind ever since this plan was conceived between their own leaders.
"Are you sure this will work? Don't forget, this guy is still a Titan, and we basically know next to nothing about its anatomy, just like with most of the other Titans."
"It will work. Magma Industries has been 'cooperating' with Apex for a while now to reach this goal."
The leader of Magma's group put on a sneer as he thought about the people at Apex who believed that they held all the cards in the deal and that they had successfully fooled Maxie, failing to realize that they were not the puppeteer, but a mere piece on the board that is the world.
"Those fools still don't know that Magma has been sabotaging all their research into controlling the Titans and think that it is all bad luck. They also don't know that the one who torched their experimental Anti-Titan Bioweapons lab and made off with this concoction was us."
The leader of Aqua fell silent, knowing that it was better not to ask any more questions lest he be forced to listen to this bragging even more.
The two leaders signalled their men, who followed their orders and took out very large containers, filled to the brim with a concoction of toxins that Apex designed specifically to deal with Titans.
Something that neither Hoenn nor Magma nor Aqua would ever agree to, except for this one situation.
Because they knew that Monster Zero was no Titan of Earth.
Because they knew that it was an invader, just like the Kaiju from the other side of the rifts. Something that they only knew thanks to the Iwi heritage that Hoenn has, which recorded all sorts of prehistoric information in their texts and records.
However, before the two teams could start pumping Monster Zero to the gills with this toxin, something truly unexpected happened.
All of a sudden, the klaxons, which had been turned off some time ago, blared to life again, as a strange noise rang out across the facility.
"What the-?"
Before they could react, water rushed in from all around them, submerging the entire Outpost.
As the water rushed in with pressure that should not be possible for normal liquids at this altitude, the people of Magma and Aqua saw something truly disturbing.
A group of four creatures, with four spindly arms and segmented legs like a crustacean, swimming through the liquid and making a beeline for Monster Zero.
For a brief moment before their deaths, the two leaders shared a confused look with one of the creatures, who held the same kind of confusion in its opal eyes.
Then, the creature dismissed the humans and headed back to its group, where they suddenly morphed two of their four arms and started emitting high-frequency sound waves, resonating with the ice shelf's own frequency.
Within seconds, the ice shelf shattered and released the creature held within.
The King of another ecosystem, the king who had been humiliated and trapped thousands of years ago by the native King and Queen of the ecosystem, awakened.
And the moment he woke up, King Ghidorah was pissed beyond belief.

"What the actual fuck is happening here?"
The Precursor: Confused screeching (Why are these humans still alive when I specifically pushed in water with enough pressure to kill all organic life that is not our own?)
