Chapter 38 - Chapter 38

2015. Skull Island.

On the isolated landmass surrounded by a perpetual storm, A rift suddenly opened up underground, alerting the local population of what was happening nearby.

The Iwi tribe offshoots, whose telepathic abilities were not as developed as their counterparts in the Hollow Earth or on Hoenn, were the first ones to sense the disturbance.

They felt the alien minds on the other side briefly brush against theirs before unnatural roars rang out from beyond the rift.

A challenge to the natural order of this landmass.

A challenge that would not go unanswered.

The last of the Titan Apes on the surface. The descendants of those who refused to fight the Godzilla species in the ancient war, yet did not oppose the Skar King, who were banished to the surface by Godzilla thousands of years ago.

Kong. The King of Skull Island.

The moment the Kaiju, another Tresspasser clone, roared its challenge after emerging from the Rift, Kong responded with his own roar and beating his chest.

The massive Titan of Earth, who had grown significantly since the outside world first discovered him in 1965, bounded across the land, heading straight for the invader.

On the otherhand, Tresspasser sensed the arrival of the native Titan, something that its makers had started to classify as Anomalous lifeforms, and chose to head straight for the sea where it would have the advantage.

From a distance, the Iwi watched all of this happen with fear and awe.

As the invader bound across the land, using its lighter mass and density to its advantage and quickly clearing the land, it would find that on this island, even the waters were not safe.

The moment the beast bound into the sea and prepared to use the area to its built-in advantage, something else showed its existence to the Kaiju.

The sea churned as colossal, blue tentacles breached the surface and latched onto the Kaiju, dragging it into the depths while the invader tried to struggle out of the ensnarement, yet failed to do so given the significant difference between its strength and the native lifeforms.

However, suddenly, the sea beast released the Kaiju and swiftly swam away, shrieking in terror.

Then, things went from bad to worse for the Kaiju as the skies above the island suddenly lit up with the telltale sight of a plasma sheath followed by a distinct roar that resounded across the island.

Before the Kaiju could even comprehend the danger it was in, a stream of light hit it from the sky, instantly dissolving it through the constant stream of charged macrons, reducing it to atoms and making sure that its toxic blood would not harm the environment.

A scene that Kong witnessed and roared at in a mix of fear and anger.

"None of that, young one."

A presence so colossal that the Titan Ape failed to even comprehend, gently brushed against his mind, giving him the message of peace, warmth, and reassurance, along with transmitting the reason for the being's presence here.

The plasma sheath parted, revealing the colossal emerald serpent floating in the air. His majestic presence filled the Iwi watching from a distance, and Kong with awe and slight fear as his yellow eyes stared down at Skull Island with a warm look.

Kong had never seen this kind of being before in his life. So he had no idea what to think about it.

However, the Iwi knew exactly who they were dealing with.

Quickly, those of the Iwi who could move fast enough moved towards Kong, drawing the king's attention.

While they could communicate in a primitive way with Kong, the communication was not so foolproof that the Iwi could tell him everything. So, the only thing the Iwi managed to communicate was that the Primal Sky was no threat to them and was a benevolent entity.

A scene that amused the emerald serpent in the sky.

"Would you look at that? To think that the banished tribe of Iwi managed to survive to this day and are still ever loyal to their chosen protectors. Although it looks like they have lost a significant chunk of their evolutionary traits and become more in line with regular humans."

"Hoo....?"

Kong gave a confused hoot at the words resounding in his mind, unable to comprehend them as he was never taught to speak in words like the other apex titans were taught by Rayquaza.

A mistake that said super snake realized and started speaking with images and emotions again. Transmitting his thoughts to the titan ape.

However, before they could continue with their conversation, Rayquaza sensed the rift on Skull Island blink out of existence, prompting a sigh from him.

'One of these days, I will crack the code on these rifts. And when I do, the bastards on the other side are going to have a really, really bad day.'

Turning back to Kong, Rayquaza came to a decision and transmitted a location to him.

An opening into the Hollow Earth located on Skull Island.

"I think Godzilla has punished your people for long enough. Head to the location, and you shall be reunited with what is left of your kind."

"The same goes for you, children of the Mothra."

With that, the titan ascended back into the atmosphere, leaving behind an excited Titan Ape who understood exactly what Rayquaza meant thanks to the mental communication, and an equally excited Iwi tribe who now realized that there were more of their people below the surface.

"Godzilla is going to be pissed that you let that youngling know about the imprisoned Skar King tribe down here."

I snorted at Groudon's words.

"It doesn't matter. As I said, I think they have suffered long enough for the actions of their ancestors and parents."

"Besides, in these tumultuous times, we need all hands on deck and have no room for ancient rivalries."

"Then, why not awaken all the Titans, Brother?"

"And risk giving all of humanity a collective heart attack? No thanks. Besides, the invader threat is not yet at a level where we need to do something so drastic."

"True enough. We can still handle most of this on our own. Even if it is hectic as hell."

I laughed at Groudon's complaints, knowing that he had it the worst among all five of us who are actively hunting down the invaders all the time.

Godzilla could swim and use the Hollow Earth portals to basically fast travel across the world by using the Axis Mundi, the world in between.

Similarly, Mothra could do the same, and given her extreme speed that is buffed by her 'God Rays', a power she gained after absorbing my radiation all those thousands of years ago, she can basically go anywhere on the planet easily.

As for Kyogre, he can also swim at absurd speeds and learned to use his water density manipulation to his advantage after learning from me. He learned to manipulate the water density around his body and use it as water jets to move around at absurd speeds underwater.

And given that I can travel anywhere on the planet with my speeds that has improved significantly in recent years, allowing me to travel to the otherside of the planet in a minute or so, I also have no problems with locomotion.

The only one that is still struggling with moving at any significant speed is Groudon, since he has to rely on his legs to move and has no convenient powers to use like Kyogre or I.

While Groudon and I have been brainstorming a way to help him bridge that gap with his own powers, it is still a work in progress. So, for now, he is stuck using his own two legs to travel. A frustrating experience for my dear brother.

As I approached Hoenn's airspace, I spotted the logistics ships operated by the Outer Tribe moving busily like bees, hauling precious materials and technology out of Hoenn and to the outside world.

"Alright. I am at Hoenn. Any updates on your end?"

"Nothing. Brother. I am still holding position over the Arctic after the last rift."

"I am waiting at our old stomping grounds in the Hollow Earth. No movement here either."

"I am sleeping near the original incursion point. No movement from beyond."

"Same, Rayquaza. I am keeping an eye on things in the south, but there is no movement yet. Looks like things are quiet for now."

"This time, the interval of four months."

I sighed worriedly as I wrapped around the Sky Pillar and put the internet cable into my mouth.

"The interval of incursions is noticeably decreasing. We need to find a way to the other side as quickly as possible. If not, there is no telling what will happen when the rifts start opening up every day, or worse, every hour."

The other titans transmitted their agreement and went dormant, waiting for the invaders from the otherside.

Meanwhile, Rayquaza decided to take a well-earned break and rest his tired mind.

And what better way to rest than break into secure data streams and try playing some online games on the side?
