Chapter 187 - The Weight of the Senju Name

Tsunade, unsure if she could even pass it on, had never attempted to teach it.

But... Nawaki was dead.

Dan was dead.

If she were to die carelessly, this secret technique would be lost forever.

Of course, she wouldn't have considered teaching it if this black cat hadn't piqued her interest by mastering the Flying Thunder God Technique.

This technique requires Chakra to envelop the entire body, creating a powerful airflow to enhance Taijutsu attacks.

Those with poor Chakra control cannot learn it; instead, they risk injury from the explosive Chakra surges.

"Do you understand?"

"Meow!" Raj nodded excitedly, realizing he had actually understood.

It was a principle comprehensible to both humans and cats, though mastering it seemed far from easy.

'The brain understands, but the hands don't.'

He grasped the concept perfectly, yet putting it into practice remained a challenge.

"When you practice, start with localized applications. That way, even if you fail, you won't risk your life."

Tsunade patted the cat's head.

Practicing here was risky; if something went wrong, she wouldn't be able to save him...

"One question, meow. Minato?" Raj raised a paw, voicing his lingering doubt.

Since the idea for this technique had stemmed from his mastery of the Flying Thunder God Technique, why hadn't Minato...?

"First, he was Jiraiya's disciple. Second, his body wasn't suited for it. You possess a unique energy within you," Tsunade said.

She patted his body.

The cat seemed unaware that its body differed from ordinary humans.

Its constitution resembled that of the spirit beasts from sacred lands, but crucially, it could learn human-developed Ninjutsu.

Take the Flying Thunder God Technique, for example.

This Ninjutsu was notoriously difficult for even humans to master, yet the cat had mastered it.

Had it not been for this, Tsunade wouldn't have impulsively decided to teach it the Superhuman Strength Technique.

But this came at a price.

Raj jumped onto Tsunade's shoulder, pondered for a moment, and asked, "Meow, what's the price?"

"The price... is working in my stead. As you can see, I'm no longer fit for the battlefield. But after Jiraiya's idiocy forced me to return, leaving again won't be so easy. So, you'll fight enemies in the name of the Senju Clan."

Tsunade crouched down to speak.

"Meow?"

'Are you asking me to carry the Senju Clan's banner? Your clan is cursed - the men never live long! I don't want to die!'

"The Senju Clan has more than just this technique. If you can learn them all, I'll teach you everything. But then you'll officially be my student - a personal disciple," Tsunade said with a faint smile.

Taking a cat as a student seemed absurd, but if it could truly master the techniques, why not?

Of course, she hadn't forgotten their earlier fight.

She'd planned to discipline it first before teaching it, but their brief clash had unexpectedly triggered her hemophobia again.

Sigh...

Tsunade sighed softly and patted the cat.

"So, do you want to become my disciple?"

"Meow~ I'll think about it."

'Damn it!'

Tsunade nearly slapped the cat.

Who does this thing think it is? One of the Three Legendary Sannin!

In this day and age, she had lowered herself to actively seek a disciple, only for the cat to dismissively say, "I'll see."

Was this an insult or just plain disrespect?

'It definitely needs another beating.'

Tsunade's expression remained impassive, but she secretly resolved that once her hemophobia was cured, she would personally give this cat a thorough thrashing.

Though she wasn't even sure if her hemophobia could ever be cured, at least there was still hope.

"But I think Rin would be a good choice, meow~" Raj immediately recommended.

It wasn't that Raj didn't want to become Tsunade's disciple, but it knew its own limitations.

Its Ninjutsu skills were entirely System-acquired; if it had to learn on its own, even something as theoretically simple as Superhuman Strength would be a struggle, let alone a series of Medical Ninjutsu techniques.

These techniques weren't just about memorization.

Medical Ninjutsu required a deep understanding of specialized knowledge.

For example, the Mystical Palm Technique could be a healing art when used correctly, but a lethal attack when misapplied.

In the System's exchange market, Medical Ninjutsu techniques were priced particularly high.

This only confirmed Raj's abysmal aptitude for Medical Ninjutsu.

Too expensive! Can't afford it!

"Hmph, you're really asking for it."

Tsunade vigorously rubbed the cat's fur, signaling it to use the Flying Thunder God Technique to return to camp.

Since the fight had been called off, there was no point in lingering.

Back at camp, Raj followed Tsunade's advice and didn't immediately attempt to practice Superhuman Strength.

Instead, it first checked the price of the technique in the System's shop.

Previously listed at over 13,000 Points, the price had plummeted to 9,000.

A discount of over 4,000 Points! Not bad!

Raj's eyes lit up.

If this trend continued, wouldn't it save a fortune in Points by learning Medical Ninjutsu, the Yin Seal, Sage Mode, and Mitotic Regeneration directly from Tsunade?

No, wait.

It couldn't think that way.

This mindset was like buying discounted items at a store - snapping them up regardless of whether they were needed.

With limited Points, every one had to be spent wisely.

Focus on mastering Superhuman Strength first.

However, Raj didn't plan to redeem the technique immediately.

It wanted to see if it could learn it for free.

Even at 9,000 Points, that was still nearly 10,000.

If it could learn it on its own, why waste the Points?

After pondering for a while back at camp, Raj went to sleep.

Meanwhile, Tsunade requested a stack of personnel files from the Medical Corps.

These documents contained the current roster of Konoha's medical staff, from which Rin had been selected earlier.

She meticulously sorted through the files, one by one.

Having trained most of these individuals for years, she could immediately assess their aptitude and potential.

Her attention, therefore, focused primarily on the younger children - the true future of Konoha.

"Kabuto?"

Tsunade picked up a file.

The child was remarkably young but had already met the minimum requirements for joining the Medical Corps and was currently training at Konoha Hospital.

What caught her eye was the note: "Special Recommendation from Orochimaru," along with the indication that this child might be a survivor from the Land of Wind, left behind after the battle at Bellflower Castle.

This identity was... complicated.

Tsunade frowned slightly, pondered for a moment, then set the file aside.

She continued sorting through the remaining documents.

Raj had inspired her.

Though disheartened and reluctant to continue as a ninja, Konoha was now in a precarious state.

Since fate had brought her back to the village, she resolved to nurture at least one or two medical talents for its sake.

This would be a way to honor the ideals of Dan and Nawaki...

As she thought of them, she couldn't help but sigh heavily, a wave of melancholy washing over her.
