The entrance to the underground wing was hidden beneath the oldest part of Ravencrest.
To students, the narrow stone corridor behind the archive shelves was just another sealed storage section no one used anymore.
Sebastian stood before the wall in silence. Then he pressed his thumb against a carved mark in the stone.
The wall split down the middle with a low mechanical grind and slowly opened inward.
Sebastian stepped through without hesitation, and the wall closed behind him.
A steel elevator appeared, no buttons on the outside, only a black plate that scanned the veins beneath skin when he laid his palm against it.
The elevator descended, and when the door opened, it was an entirely different place. This place was concrete, reinforced glass, drains in the floors, cameras in corners, with doors thick enough to survive explosions.
Two guards stood outside the receiving corridor. Both lowered their heads immediately.
"Director."
