Dorian's POV
Shell-shocked.
That's the only word I could use to describe Elena. Her lips parted in surprise as she took in the elaborate setup.
Selena had outdone herself creating the perfect ambiance, so I knew disappointment wasn't what I was seeing on Elena's face.
"You... okay?" I asked quietly, fighting the urge to reach for her.
"Yes," she finally responded, blinking but still looking stunned. "Why?"
"I... needed to apologize."
"For what?" she shot back, her expression twisting with sudden fury.
"For... everything," I said cautiously.
She let out a bitter laugh. "Everything? Which part exactly, Mr. Griffin? What part justifies all this?" She waved her hand dramatically at the arrangement.
I moved closer, but she backed away. "I'm lost, Elena. You hate it?"
"What's to love?" she snapped.
