Elena's POV
"What do you mean by that?" Bennett snapped, his jaw clenching tight. "I asked you a fucking question."
"And I posed one as well," Agatha responded with icy composure, tossing her purse onto the sofa before turning toward Vivienne with a practiced smile. "Hello, dear."
Vivienne dismissed her completely, addressing her staff instead. "Leave us."
I tensed as the staff filed out one by one. The urge to escape with them crossed my mind, but Dorian's fingers interlaced with mine, holding me in place.
My hand shook in his grip as I caught Lexie's eye.
"Leave," Lexie mouthed silently, her expression disgusted.
Heat crawled up my neck, but my feet refused to move.
"What do you want, Agatha?" Vivienne hissed.
"I came to visit my family, my niece," Agatha announced, sweeping past me toward Kenzie. Her heavy perfume hit me as she moved by. "How are you holding up? I heard about what happened."
"I'm getting better," Kenzie managed with a trembling smile.
