The team & Byung-Gyu followed Jinchul to the training hall. "Everyone, as you have heard, the gates are changing, we need to change as well. So starting today, I will train with you all including you Min" said Jinchul who was removing his sunglasses.
"Me!!! Why??? I am the guy who will not go into the dungeon ever again" replied Byung-Gyu with his hands crossed and shaking his head.
"I don't care whether you are going to the dungeon or not, but at least you need to do basic training; if not you will forget even how to heal people. Go ahead and join them. No comments" replied Jinchul.
The training hall was a massive, sterile space, the floor a pristine white. Jinchul stood at the center, a striking figure in his black suit, his sunglasses now tucked into his pocket. He was a man of quiet authority, but a different kind of intensity radiated from him now.
"The way hunters operate is flawed," Jinchul began, his voice surprisingly soft. "We rely on brute force and sheer numbers. But what if we don't have that luxury? What if a dozen B-rank gates open simultaneously across the country? We can't afford to have a hundred-hunter team for each. We need to be lean, efficient, and lethal. This training is to make you just that."
He looked at Seok first. "Seok, your body is a wall. I want you to maintain your Fortify skill while I attack you with my mana-infused strikes. Don't block. Don't dodge. Just take the hit. I will adjust the force. Your job is to tell me how it feels and where the impact is. We need to understand the absolute limits of your skill."
Next, he turned to Kang Taeshik, the assassin. "Taeshik, you are the blade. Speed is your ally, but precision is your weapon. I want you to dodge my attacks and land your strikes on my weak points. You have five seconds for each strike. Failure to strike will result in a penalty. You will repeat the drill until you succeed."
Jinchul's gaze moved to Song Chiyul, the fiery mage. "Chiyul, your role is to provide ranged support. I want you to maintain a consistent barrage of fireballs on a moving target while simultaneously watching your mana levels. I will create the target using my mana. Your job is to ensure the target is completely incinerated without running out of mana. We will train until you have mastered mana control."
He then addressed Lee Dun-He and Kim Jun-Ho. "Dun-He, Jun-Ho, your roles are the most critical. You are the eyes and ears of this team. While Chiyul, Taeshik, and Seok are training, you will be monitoring their mana usage, stamina, and movements. You will give me a full report after each session. This is how we will learn to fight as a single, cohesive unit."
Byung-gyu watched from the sidelines, his face a mix of curiosity and concern. He knew Jinchul was strong, but what he was proposing was on a whole new level. He was pushing them to their absolute limits, and even Byung-gyu couldn't predict how his own S-rank abilities would fare in such an environment.
"Don't think I have forgotten you. Your job is to heal them because I think I will be crushing them more so get ready to heal them quickly. You will be using them as guinea pigs to increase your healing efficiency and control" Jinchul told to Byung-Gyu who nodded his head
Even though Mr. Jinchul had stopped the attack, I don't think he is so powerful as to thrash us all. Right? Seok asked Taeshik & Chiyul in a low voice.
"You will see, Mr. Seok. I really hope you are Iron wall atleast it should hold for sometime" replied Taeshik for which Chiyul nodded his head agreeing to the statement.
Jinchul took a deep breath, and a palpable wave of mana radiated from him, a silent pressure that made the air feel heavy. The light in the training hall flickered. "The first lesson is not with your skills. It's with your senses. Right now, most of you can only feel the mana of the gates. I want you to feel the mana of everything around you. Close your eyes."
The team members hesitated for a moment, then, one by one, they closed their eyes. The silence was absolute.
"Now, feel," Jinchul commanded. "Feel the mana flowing from the lights above. Feel the static charge in the air. Feel the mana in each other. Feel the subtle hum of the air conditioning unit. Everything has mana. Everything is connected. The stronger your connection to mana, the stronger your perception of the world will be."
A minute passed, then two. Jinchul's aura grew, the pressure in the room increasing. Chiyul's hands began to shake but he began to force his mana around him to keep him steady, and Min Byung-Gyu's face was beaded with sweat. Taeshik was even struggling to stand.
Seok, however, remained still, a small, subtle smile on his face. He felt the mana, the constant flow. It felt like an old friend.
Finally, Jinchul let his mana dissipate. "You all felt it, but Seok felt it the most," he said. "He's not just a tank; he's a sponge. His body absorbs mana as naturally as it absorbs physical blows. This is a skill that will be invaluable in the field."
"What Chiyul did was the right thing but the output needs to controlled. You need to surround yourself with mana while you enter the dungeon, I know it is easier for Higher Rank hunters but if you control your mana properly, you can have a small amount of mana focusing around yourself always which will help in many situations" taught Jinchul.
"Chief I thought you didn't go much into dungeon, how did you know so much about it" questioned Taeshik.
"Oh I levelled up" replied Jinchul with a small smile for which everybody tilted their heads.
"Its a joke. President taught me these things" told Jinchul while waving his hands.
He looked at the rest of the team. "Now lets get back to what I was saying. So I want you all to work on this skill every day. This will be the foundation for everything else we do" for which everybody nodded their heads with determination
"Alright let's get you all beat up." said Jinchul while cracking his knuckles
