Once again, their attacks were deflected by the mermaid queen.
Tempest's eyes narrowed. She knew brute force would not be enough. "Listen carefully," she said, her voice sharp but calm. "This boss is not like the others. She commands the Domain itself. We must break her control before we can wound her."
"Inorder to weaken them, we'd have to destroy the trident inorder to weaken them" Kaiden suggested
"Great, so we are supposed to destroy a weapon forged by heavens. Easy job" Trevor groaned.
The Mermaid Queen raised her trident again, lightning and water swirling together. The chamber walls glowed with runes, feeding her strength.
"Everyone disperse!" Tempest shouted.
They split apart as the queen unleashed another tidal wave. Yin and Yang leapt forward, their twin forms glowing black and white, biting into the current to weaken it. The fire tornado from Friea clashed against the water, steam filling the room.
Kaiden pressed his hands to the ground. "Roots of eternity!"
The floor cracked, and massive vines surged upward, wrapping around the queen's legs. She snarled, slicing through them with her trident, but the vines slowed her movements.
Tally's fireballs exploded against the watery shield, creating bursts of steam. Friea spun in the air, her flaming hair whipping like a storm. "Master, allow me!" She transformed into a blazing phoenix, diving straight at the queen.
The queen blocked with her trident, but the flames left cracks of heat across its surface.
Tempest saw it. "The weapon can be broken!"
Trevor clenched his fists. "Then let's make it happen." He boosted their strength again, multiplying the damage.
The Queen's Fury reached the roof.
The Mermaid Queen roared, her voice shaking the chamber. "You dare challenge me? I am the ruler of tides!"
Her aura expanded, crushing the vines, extinguishing flames, and forcing everyone to their knees. Even Slyvaris staggered, his leafy hair burning at the edges.
Tempest alone stood firm, her deathblade glowing with crimson light. She whispered, "Deathblade resonance."
The blade pulsed, feeding on her determination. She dashed forward, her movements faster than thought. The queen swung her trident, but Tempest's slash met it head-on. Sparks of red and blue exploded, shaking the chamber.
The trident cracked.
The queen's eyes widened. "Impossible!"
"Now everyone!" Tempest shouted.
Kaiden's vines surged again, wrapping around the trident. Tally and Friea unleashed a storm of fire, melting the cracks wider. Trevor boosted the flames until they burned white-hot.
Talia was not left behind.
Slyvaris raised his arms, summoning the strength of the forest. "Nature's judgment!" A massive tree hand slammed down, pinning the queen.
Tempest leapt high, her blade glowing brighter than ever. "Deathblade final art—Oblivion Slash!"
She struck the trident with all her strength.
The weapon shattered into pieces, exploding into shards of water and lightning. The Domain collapsed instantly. The glowing runes on the walls faded, and the crushing aura vanished.
The Mermaid Queen screamed, her body trembling as her power drained away. Without the trident, she was vulnerable.
She screamed with fury
"Let's finish this!" Tempest spoke
"You don't have to tell me twice" Trevor
The Mermaid Queen shrieked, her body dissolving into water. Her form collapsed into a pool, leaving only the shattered remains of her trident.
The chamber grew silent.
Tempest lowered her blade, her eyes calm but sharp.
"It's over."
Trevor collapsed onto the floor. "Over? My legs feel like jelly. Someone carry me."
Tally chuckled, though her flames dimmed. "You're fine. Stop whining."
Kaiden bowed to his nature spirit. "Thank you, Slyvaris." The spirit smiled, fading back into light.
Friea returned to her fiery form, her hair glowing softly. "Master, the queen's Domain is gone. The dungeon is clear."
"Seems like we have to train harder" Tempest commented calmly
Trevor groaned. "Can we at least get lunch first?"
Everyone laughed, the tension finally breaking. The shattered trident glowed faintly before dissolving into mist, leaving behind a single pearl. Tempest picked it up, its surface shining with ocean light.

"The rewards!" Trevor perked up as if he saw his favorite candy
