Voren couldn't wait one more second. His canines stretched long and sharp, and he drove them deep into the soft curve of Seraphine's neck. Pain flared hot and bright through her whole body.
She sucked in a hard gasp against her chest, muscles locking tight. Then she felt every bit of her strength pouring out of her, draining fast like water slipping through open hands, leaving her shaky and light.
He kept his mouth on her a moment longer before pulling back. His tongue dragged slowly over the little drop of blood on her skin, warm and careful. "Mark me too," he murmured right against her ear, his voice low and thick. He tipped his head sideways, giving her every bit of his neck.
Her knees went weak, the blood moon rays spilling through the cloud above them turned soft and blurry. Marsha's voice cut through the haze hard.
'Must. Or you'll be faint. Mark him, Sera.'
